It's totally obvious that @NYCMayor read our blog post last year. Change like what's being implemented in NYC needs to be nationwide.
If he didn't read it though, he should ⬇️

A young mother in Phoenix, Illinois, dropped off her twin boys (around 6-12 months old) at a fire station around 1:30 a.m.
She handed the babies in car seats, along with a diaper bag, to firefighters, saying she could no longer care for them.

Since the twins were older, the mother was arrested. The fire chief called her decision courageous and hoped authorities would show leniency.
The boys were turned over to child services. A desperate act that exposed the law’s strict age limit.
