MEDAL OF EXCELLENCE 2025 WINNERS
The winners of the fourth edition of the prestigious Medal of Excellence Award competition were crowned at a colourful ceremony held over the weekend. The winners took home UGX 20,000,000 in cash prizes and the solid commitment of Innovation Consortium to assist them in bringing their ideas to life. The winners were;
First Prize UGX 11,000,000 was won by Musiitwa Isaac (Ugandan), a 5th year architecture student from Kyambogo University for his "Thickened Panel folding structure" idea
Second Prize UGX 5,500,000 was won by Monyroor Dau (South Sudanese), a student from the University of Juba for his "Return Tech Agency" idea that simplifies the collection and recovery of lost documents and items
Third Prize UGX 3,500,000 was won by Walusimbi Joseph (Ugandan), an electronics engineer from the university of Soroti for his Smart Card based portable and transferrable power system.
Hononary Mention was given to the Patron of this year's challenge, the Late Mrs. Mary Anthony Nvule
Congratulations to all the winners, well wishers and all that attended or participated in this year's edition. We look forward to a bigger exhibition of innovation excellence when we announce the 5th edition of this competition next year around June.

Using Interlocking Stabilised Soil Blocks ISSB technology saves you approximately 20% because;
1. Their interlocking feature and uniformity means you don't need mortar for the vertical joints and only use a thin layer of mortar for the horizontal joints.
2. They're made on site hence no transport and damage costs
3. Don't necessarily require plastering and also allow for different types finishes i.e Vanishing, painting. But also in case you opt to, they're cheaper to plaster because of their uniform nature hence require a small plaster thickness.
FYI: This technology has ben around longer than the great wall of China but in Uganda we are the tip of this spear for more than 15 years.
