@jakozloski Women have always wanted providers. The more money women earn, the more money it takes to attract them.
Of course, women get more out of a marriage than money, so you can't entirely replace a husband with a job. But it does factor into whether and whom a woman marries.
@ChrisS97250209@JoshuaLisec I do sincerely despise seeing men who respond to all this by taking it as an excuse to pursue equal or greater immorality in the way they relate to women.
@ChrisS97250209@JoshuaLisec That is a serious problem, especially with how aggressively our culture not only encourages women towards immoral behavior but teaches them that they should never and will never be anything but celebrated for it.
I agree. And I get why it hurts for a guy to think about how easily a girl he loves gave herself to other men, but it's absurd to conclude she should continue living that way. A Christian man has his own moral obligations.
So I'm with you on every principle, and a lot of these guys are off their rockers. What frustrates me, nonetheless, is how many people pretend all this promiscuity doesn't have consequences. It does, and they are significant.
@ChrisS97250209@JoshuaLisec They're doing the right thing, if they're sincere, but that doesn't obligate any man to overlook her past and marry her.
She'll have to accept that her past has consequences for how men see her. Women should be taught this reality when they're young, before the damage is done.
@StilNotHavin_It This is good, but the difference is that even the most pathetically chronic failure to provide isn't a direct infliction of harm against a man's wife expressing his lack of affection and even disdain for her.
So it's really quite a lot worse.
@avidseries Seems pleasant, though.
I imagine this happens by default and maybe by necessity in less developed societies. But in contemporary America, it's a luxury you'd have to work pretty hard to achieve and maintain.
@spandrell4 The problem here isn't the idea that a man would stay devoted to his wife after some unknown tragedy prevented intimacy. The problem is that a woman can have so little affection for her husband that she would do something so hateful to him on purpose.
This is, of course, not "the most romantic thing." But I'm sure it's nice to hear, like it's nice to hear that a man would accept a painful death just to get mustard on her sandwich the way she likes.
For a woman to purposefully demand this of her husband is utterly evil.
The most romantic thing a man can express to a woman is that even if she never has sex with him again, he wants to be with her forever. Because his love for her as a person transcends any animal urge.
This is even more romantic if he has a high sex drive.
@wil_da_beast630 The problem here is that I don't know what "US normal to fit" means. "Fit" is ideal, but my impression of "US normal" is... quite overweight. It's a big range. By extension, if "curvy/thick or beyond" is even bigger than "US normal," well, that sounds pretty darn big.
A mother's love is a precious treasure.
A wife's love is worth far more.
Marriage is the highest form of human love, and it is sad that we have so despoiled the institution that anyone can believe otherwise.
Your wife or girlfriend will never be as loyal to you as your mother is
All love from women is conditional upon you meeting at least her baseline expectations
The only exception is your mother.
This is why you should treasure her. Because she will give her life for you.
