The South Australian Insect Investigators @SAMuseum team is excited to visit schools this term (as we weren’t able to at the start of the program). This week Alice @MRLandscapeSA and Erinn @UofA_SET visited Rendelsham PS and Kingston Community School! #entomology #CitizenScience

@UniofAdelaide @SAMuseum @qldmuseum @wamuseum @usceduau @wagouldleague @SAScience @LandcareSA Small-bodied insects on the other hand, had the DNA extraction process applied to the whole specimen at @CBG_UofG!

This means that all of the tiny wasps and flies are stored in alcohol, rather than being pinned like the larger critters!

All of your hard work collecting #insects is paying off, as all of the large-bodied insects have now been pinned and are ready to be inspected by our team of taxonomists!

Every one has had a leg or other small fragment removed for #DNA extraction!
