⚔️ A week removed from the transfer window closing, I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical at first. But after digging into the players we brought in, I’m a believer. I get where you’re coming from, but I see it as the opposite of cowardly.

They tried a new direction, it hasn’t worked, and now they’ve had the bottle to swallow their pride and bring back the man best placed to get us back on track.

I’d go 4-3-3 with this sort of shape. Fullbacks pushing on and overlapping when the chance is there, with Soumaré sitting deeper to anchor.

In possession this XI has the legs to overwhelm Ipswich, and the Mee–Tanganga pairing should cut out mistakes at the back. The big question is whether we’re clinical enough in front of goal.

@That_There_Phil It’s not word salad, mate. He uses positioning and awareness to cover ground — that’s his game, and it’s what stood out in his tape at Reading. It’s still true and outweighs what we’ve seen so far here. Quickness isn’t just about how fast you move your feet.

Yes, I wouldn’t call Bindon quick in the traditional sense — it’s more about how he reads the game and covers ground intelligently. He hasn’t shown that yet for us, but I’d put that down to our system, shape, and tactics more than his ability. To be fair, he’s a young defender in a new setup, and that always takes time. The problem is time isn’t a luxury we have. A strong backline is built on cohesion, trust, and communication — things we just don’t have right now. He’ll grow into it, but for now we really need to lean on the more experienced defenders who’ve since come in. At Bristol City, those guys weren’t in, and he was thrown straight to the wolves next to RND.

No, I don’t see him getting sacked if we lose at Ipswich. If that was going to happen, the international break was the perfect time to do it. I’m sure there were internal conversations about adjustments that need to be made, and his standing at the club really depends on following through with those. As long as he implements the changes that were discussed, I think he gets more time — especially with the run of fixtures coming up!

A seasoned Premier League defender with leadership and grit.

Leadership: Vocal organiser and mentor for young defenders.

Career snapshot: Over a decade at Burnley, then Brentford, with nearly 500 career appearances. Known as one of the league’s most reliable defenders.

Impact at Bramall Lane: Immediate leadership and stability. Raises standards and anchors the defence in high-pressure moments.

Rating: 9/10 – On leadership and experience alone, this is a top signing. If he stays fit, he’s a 10/10 — exactly the type of presence who can steady the defence and guide younger players through a long season.

⚔️ That wraps up our Summer Transfer Window Analysis. ⚔️

COH showed ambition: signing experienced leaders, proven scorers, and exciting young prospects. Recruitment blended data/AI with old-school scouting to build a squad for now and the future.

Overall, I’d rate the window a 7.5/10. The average player rating across all signings comes out to 7.7/10 — big holes filled, especially in defence, though there are still some question marks in midfield and attack.

A tall, left-footed Swedish international with a modern profile.

Height & aerial dominance: 1.92m, commanding in duels.

Ball-playing ability: Breaks lines with passes, confident carrying out.

Maturity: Already capped by Sweden and proven in Europe with Malmö.

Career snapshot: Broke into Malmö’s senior side in 2024, scoring in Champions League qualifiers. Debuted for Sweden later that year. Joined United on a four-year deal.

Impact at Bramall Lane: Long-term building block with the qualities to play at a higher level. Brings balance and presence to the left side of defence.

Rating: 7/10 – A signing with high potential who may fly under the radar this season. Has all the tools to develop into a cornerstone defender for United over the coming years.
