Inside Books Project is an Austin-based non-profit (founded in 1998) that sends free books and educational materials to people in Texas prisons.

IBP is celebrating 25 years of sending free books to people in Texas prisons! Each year we send 15,000+ books out. Our annual holiday fundraiser runs through January 15th. On average each package costs $4.67 to send out- you contribute below. Thank you!

TDCJ made a MAJOR unannounced mail policy change a few weeks ago and we haven't gotten clarity since. All packages continue to be returned until non profits/book projects are "pre-approved" to send into Texas Prisons. No clarity on a process/timeframe
