Bereaved families are calling for former Health Secretary Matt Hancock to be stripped of his Right Honourable title and removed from the Privy Council following damning findings about the treatment of care homes during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK, representing 7,000 people, has launched a petition demanding action from the Prime Minister.

Key developments:

• Inquiry findings: The Covid Inquiry's sixth report identified serious failures in care-home protection, including inadequate testing, shortages of personal protective equipment and poor pandemic planning.

• Care-home deaths: Approximately 43,000 people died with Covid-19 in care homes during the pandemic, according to the inquiry.

• Discharging patients: The inquiry examined decisions to transfer hospital patients into care homes without Covid testing, despite the risks posed to vulnerable residents.

• Protective ring questioned: Inquiry chair Baroness Heather Hallett rejected Hancock's earlier assertion that care homes had been protected by a ring of safety.

• Families demand accountability: Campaigners accuse Hancock of failing to protect vulnerable residents and misleading the public. They argue that removing his Privy Council status would formally recognise his responsibility.

• Hancock's explanation: He told the inquiry that ministers faced competing risks, including the danger of hospitals running out of beds, and described the discharge policy as choosing the least harmful available option.

• Possible removal: Privy Council membership is generally lifelong, but a member can resign or be removed following a recommendation to the King.

Bereaved families say their petition is the beginning of a wider campaign for accountability over decisions made during the pandemic.

Hancock was contacted for comment.

Quietly and without any grandstanding, as usual the diligence and tenancy Maggie Oliver, has pushed this issue forward.

Maggie and her team have done over 12 months of prep work to challenge the wrong doers, with a Judicial Review with the all important ♦️STATUTORY POWERS♦️

This means Maggie's legal team who are working on a capped fee can summons these people to court.

Unlike private prosecutions which are expensive and carry no obligation to attend court.

Maggie as usual puts safeguarding of survivors FIRST.

We are past the point of Inquiries being meaningful.
All the evidence has been previously gathered, under The Alexis Jay Inquiry, but the government
♦️HAS NOT♦️ acted on their findings, which includes highlighting the ethnicity of the gangs .
There were 7 pillars that the Alexis Jay Inquiry said should be put in place.

♦️Not one♦️ has been implemented under Labour.

It's harrowing for survivors to recount most painful time of their lives, so Maggie is using the best method to attempt to bring justice for these abandoned souls without putting them through the agony of telling their story again!

The Inquiry took 7 years of
It cost £186.6 million.

What Maggie needs now is publicity and support.

For over 20 years Maggie has stood by survivors old and new. This has taken such courage in the face of intense harassment in attempts to silence her .

Eritrean invader found guilty of murder of a young lad in Chatham.

Musa Salih stabbed his victim multiple times during the unprovoked assault at an address in Thorold Road, at around 3am on 2 December 2025.

Salih lured 19yr Harley Purdue to a building’s communal basement with the intent of locking him in a toilet and then going on to steal money from his bedroom.

An altercation ensued after Salih tried to trap Mr Purdue in the toilet, during which Salih stabbed his victim eight times.

Mr Purdue’s girlfriend intervened, with Salih attempting to injure her before fleeing the house and Medway area.

Get them all out!
