@SirMadridismo @managingmadrid Yeah I do agree with you that according to their rules which far pre-existed this situation, Castilla are correctly going to the play-offs. I do advise them to revise their rules for future seasons, though🤣

They tend to always fall down in the play-offs, but there’s always hope

@SirMadridismo @managingmadrid The main issue being that the league did not know their own rules, and confirmed that another team had made the play-offs. By extension, nobody else knew the rules (clubs, fans, players, media etc).

It’s a sign it needs reviewing and simplifying

Es alucinante que no haya nadie en los clubes que conozca el reglamento y los criterios de desempate. Es tremendo que los jugadores salten al campo en un partido tan importante sin saber exactamente lo que necesitan para cumplir su objetivo.

Hace solo 3 meses vivimos una situación similar con el Benfica en Champions League: Mourinho no se enteró de que necesitaba un gol más contra el Madrid para clasificarse, hasta la última jugada del partido.

I hope all of this will be an immense learning curve for Álvaro Arbeloa. Never abandon your principles and philosophy as a coach. Especially for faux progress and a promotion that clearly isn’t the right fit.
