I love creating environments that are specific to the client’s dreams and inspirations. A current client loves Frank Lloyd Wright, particularly his Fallingwater house. I pulled all sorts of inspiration from that house to design their custom bed, closets, rug and art.
@BrianLehrer@samrabiyah Sorry don't use twitter and don't see the mispronounced words post. I'm an interior designer and a client once spelled out foyer as "four year". :)
A client created a painting that will be translated into a rug. We are choosing the pom colors that best represent the blended paint colors.
How exciting to watch the unfolding of ones own creation, turned into a decorative conversation piece.
Hello fellow designers, and architects and developers, I want to share a “smart on many levels” announcement!
On April 28th at 2pm, there will be a “5 Levels of #SmartHome” online CEU event, conducted by @Control4

I'm grateful for a check-in I received from my friend. It was a check-in that was so incredibly specific to me and what she imagines I'm experiencing. I'm grateful for Ada letting me take Loki for a walk, and everyone I texted or talked to.
What are you grateful for today? #tgif
When I’m buying pieces to add to existing furniture the #moodboard is more of puzzle: I try to group items according to their rooms. This allows the client to see the whole story all at once & understand how new objects will bring new life to their existing furniture/accessories
Mood boards can have different styles. When I’m designing a room from scratch, I tend to position the recommended pieces as they will eventually be experienced in the space. In this case the aesthetic of the whole space is consistent, and there is a mood board for each room.
The overarching theme of this gallery wall is New York, music is the secondary theme — two very identifying subjects for this client.
Does your gallery wall have a theme?
Is all of your art framed the same way?
Is the medium the same?
We find ourselves in a moment where the comfort of home is important in an incredibly unique way. Surrounding yourself with items that have shaped your life can be comforting.
A recent client sent me a picture of this #MaryCorse’s artwork currently exhibited at Dia:Beacon because it reminded her of the #artlight that I designed for over her Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired bed. She was so tickled by the similarity! So was I! #interiordesign
The @houzz award recognizes 3% of 2.5M+ industry professionals. I’m honored to share this stage with fellow designers for the 7th year in a row, whose clients value the support we provide throughout the transformation of their homes. #interiordesigner
I chose the same sofa designed by #ChristianWerner for my client’s living room on the most recent #interiordesign project. I had it custom upholstered.
Isn’t it amazing to see a copy of your very own piece of furniture on a big screen in your spacious newly renovated living room?
"Parasite" is competing for six Oscars at the 92nd Academy Awards this Sunday, and for today’s #FabulousFindFriday there’s no better find than this #Pradosofa that you see on the screenshot.
#InsideWright project | It's so gratifying to see the #moodboard vision realized. It’s doubly gratifying when the client has a whimsical gene :) I love designing sophisticated yet playful spaces. #interiordesign#interiordesigner
I'm so curious about 41 Warren. Was this metal portion original to the building? Was it a mechanical room that someone eventually built on top of? And why the triangles instead of arches? Personally I love it. The patina is gorgeous and it has an industrial playfulness to it #NYC
I was brought onto a project where the client wanted a grey and white master bathroom and powder room. The bathroom will be beautiful but familiar looking. The powder room will be grey too, not familiar looking tho. It’s going to be super unique. A bit of glass and a bit of glam!
Grey bathrooms and kitchens are not really my thing. While they are often beautiful, they are a tad too common for my taste. That does not mean I won’t design them, as I design for my clients, not for myself.
In fact, Julia Knox, who owns East Village Hats, and taught the Turban making class I took, spends a lot of time at Mood Designer Fabrics in their upholstery department. I highly recommend taking the time to visit her store, men too!!! She has fabulous fedoras.
Today's #FabulousFindFriday is about an East Village store - East Village Hats. An interior designer inspired by hats? Well why not? Interior designers and milliners both use and appreciate fabric and accessories. We both care about texture, pattern, color, and layering.
