Ahead of the 2026 Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) campaign, the Plateau State Ministry of Health, the National Malaria Elimination Programme, and Malaria Consortium engaged journalists and key stakeholders to strengthen public awareness and community participation in the fight against malaria.

The meeting highlighted Plateau State’s progress in reducing malaria prevalence from 18.8% in 2021 to 2.8% in 2025 and reaffirmed the commitment to protecting over one million children under five through this year’s SMC campaign.

Together, through collaboration and awareness, we can move closer to a malaria free Plateau.

I grew up listening to his music because my dad always came home with his cassette tapes. Every time those songs played, the whole house felt alive. Looking back now, I realize I was listening to a true legend. Truly Nde Dantala deserves more flowers for preserving Plateau’s culture. Legends like him should never be forgotten.
