Remembering the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing.
On 22 May 2017, 23 innocent lives were lost and over 1,000 people were injured when a suicide bomb was detonated at an Ariana Grande concert by Islamist terrorist Salman Abedi.
We honour those who were taken, stand with the survivors, and remember the strength and unity shown in the face of tragedy.

The Hindu population in Karachi has gone from nearly 50% to just 1.12% in 82 years.
1941 (British India Census) Karachi population: 386,655
•Hindus: 49.87%
•Muslims: 42.01%
2023 (Dawn Epaper analysis) Karachi population: 20,357,474
•Hindus: 1.12%
•Muslims: 96.53%
A community that once formed almost half the city’s population has been reduced to a tiny minority.
This is one of the most dramatic/violent demographic shifts in modern history. Karachi was once a cosmopolitan city with a thriving Hindu presence. Today, that presence has nearly disappeared.
The numbers speaks for themselves.

According to the Report titled National Unity Under Threat: Foreign Interference, Cognitive Sovereignty and the Alberta Referendum” by the Global for Democratic Resilience Centre, Centre for Intelligence and Conflict, and DisinfoWatch both the U.S. and Russia are accused of interfering in Canada’s Alberta separatist debate, in ways that threaten Canada’s sovereignty and national security.
Foreign actors from the U.S. and Russia are meddling in Alberta’s separatist movement, amplifying separatist voices and normalizing the idea of U.S. annexation of Canada.
India has for years accused Canada of harboring Khalistani terrorists and turning a blind eye to the activities of its Khalistani extremist citizens. In 1985, an Air India flight from Montreal to New Delhi was bombed by Canada-based Khalistani terrorists, killing all 329 people, on board. After a Canadian investigation, most of the accused were shockingly acquitted. The Indian government has also been concerned about threats made against Indian diplomats in Canada and the lack of official action against those who made the threats.
Netherlands returns 1,000-Year-Old Chola-Era Copper Plates to India
During Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit to the Netherlands, the Dutch government formally repatriated the historic 11th-century Anaimangalam copper plates (also known as the Leiden Plates) alongside a Chola-era bronze sculpture.
Preserved at Leiden University since 1862, these artifacts consist of 21 large and three small copper sheets bound by a massive bronze ring carrying the royal seal of Rajendra Chola I.
Issued initially by King Rajaraja Chola I and later extended, the bilingual charters feature five plates inscribed in Sanskrit tracing the Chola dynasty, and sixteen plates written in Tamil. The text details the donation of an entire village’s revenue to support a Buddhist vihara (monastery) established in the Chola port town of Nagapattinam by the Sailendra rulers of the Srivijaya Empire (modern-day Southeast Asia).
The restitution gained breakthrough momentum following the Netherlands' 2022 colonial heritage return policy and a key UNESCO evaluation in 2023.
•The return marks a monumental victory for India’s diplomatic efforts to reclaim national heritage lost to foreign empires, setting a strong global precedent for the repatriation of colonial-era antiquities.
•The inscriptions serve as definitive, physical evidence of the legendary religious tolerance of the Hindu Chola rulers, who actively patronized and legally funded Buddhist institutions.

Anti-Hindu hate in the UK now has a dedicated reporting platform
Anti-Hindu Hate Monitor (AHHM) is a reporting platform designed to document anti-Hindu hate affecting Hindu, Jain, and other Dharmic communities in the UK.
Many incidents currently go underreported, making it difficult to inform policy development.
The data collected through AHHM will help government departments, the Home Office, the Met Police, and public institutions better understand and address this issue.

Expanding Political Engagement Among British Hindus
A total of 241 councillors of British Hindu and Indian origin were elected in the 2026 UK local council elections, indicating increased participation from these communities in local governance.
For the British Hindu community in particular, often noted for significant contributions to the UK, these figures represent an encouraging step towards greater political participation alongside social and economic contribution.
This growing engagement has been supported in part by sustained capacity-building efforts. Over the past five years, INSIGHT UK has actively trained and supported community members interested in local elections, helping many individuals develop the skills, confidence, and understanding needed to enter public life and serve their local communities.

A British Islamist’s mock trial of India’s PM Narendra Modi, with him in an orange jumpsuit and others dressed in ISIS-style black, has sparked shock and outrage.
The video appears to imply punitive violence against India’s democratically elected Prime Minister, a country with the world’s third largest Muslim population, which many have described as deeply disturbing and extremist in tone.
If this is linked to the UK-based group “Deen,” it raises serious concerns about vigilantism, intimidation, and the normalisation of extremist symbolism against non-Muslim individuals and communities. Political protest is one thing; imagery that echoes execution-style threats is another. This demands scrutiny of this group and individuals associated with it.

🚨 Women remain unsafe in Pakistan
71-year-old Sheema Kirmani (Seema Kirmani), a legendary Hindu classical dancer from Sindh, Pakistan, world-renowned for her mastery in Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kathak & Kathakali was brutally arrested by Sindh Police outside Karachi Press Club.
Her only “crime”?
Speaking for women’s rights and freedom at Aurat March. Radical Islamists accused this elderly artist of “spreading shirk” (idolatry) and “misleading” Pakistani girls & women.
This is the same Pakistan that lectures the world on tolerance while jailing a 71-year-old Hindu woman for dancing and demanding basic rights for women. Meanwhile, blasphemy, extremism and minority persecution thrive openly.
Pakistan = Hell for Hindus, women & minorities.

A historic spiritual milestone was witnessed yesterday (9 May 2026) as thousands across the world came together in one voice for the Chinmaya Gītā Samarpaṇam — a world record Gītā Chanting offering dedicated to the timeless wisdom of the Śrīmad Bhagavad Gītā.
As part of the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav celebrations marking 75 years of the Chinmaya Mission, seekers from every corner of the globe united to chant Chapter 15 — Puruṣottama Yoga — in an extraordinary collective act of devotion and gratitude.
From children to grandparents, from first-time chanters to lifelong seekers, people from all walks of life participated with immense enthusiasm and dedication. Thousands of voices resonating in unison transformed this offering into a truly global yajña — a moment that will remain etched in hearts for years to come.
What made this achievement even more remarkable was the sheer scale and complexity behind it. Coordinating close to 100,000 thousand participants spread across continents, countries, and multiple time zones was an enormous logistical undertaking. Despite geographical distances, differing schedules, and countless organisational challenges, the spirit of unity and devotion prevailed — reflecting the universal message of the Gītā and the tireless commitment of sevaks worldwide.
This was not merely an event; it was a powerful reminder that spirituality transcends borders, languages, and generations. Through collective chanting, the global community experienced the joy, strength, and harmony that arise when humanity comes together with a shared purpose.
INSIGHT UK congratulates everyone involved in making this monumental spiritual offering a resounding success. May the wisdom of the Gītā continue to inspire and guide generations across the world. 🙏

Canada’s intelligence agency has now admitted what many have long warned: Khalistani extremists are a national security threat.
Canada has finally begun to confront violent extremism with honesty. Khalistani extremists have been linked to grave acts of violence, including the Air India ‘Kanishka’ Flight 182 bombing, harassment and attacks on diplomatic and community targets and vandalism or intimidation aimed at Hindu temples and Indian community targets.
There must be zero tolerance for violent extremism masquerading as activism, and no safe haven for those who exploit democracy to spread intimidation, hate, and violence.
Kashmiri Hindus Exodus: Hindus told to LEAVE, CONVERT OR DIE
The Kashmiri Hindus Exodus of 1990 remains one of the most tragic chapters in modern Indian history. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, a targeted campaign of violence, threats, and killings by Pakistan-backed terrorists forced the Kashmiri
Hindu minority community to flee their ancestral homes in the Kashmir Valley.
The situation reached a breaking point on January 19, 1990. Mosques broadcasted ultimatums telling Pandits to "leave, convert, or die." Fearing for their lives amidst targeted assassinations of community leaders and neighbours, hundreds of thousands were forced into a mass migration overnight.
Estimates suggest between 150,000 to 300,000 Hindus fled. Most settled in makeshift camps in Jammu and Delhi, facing harsh living conditions and psychological trauma. The forced exodus led to the near-total ethnic cleansing of Hindus from the Valley, altering its demographic and cultural fabric.
Decades later, the "homeland" remains a distant dream for many, as the scars of 1990 continue to shape the political and social discourse of the region.
When will the Kashmiri Hindus be free of the fear of Pakistan backed Islamist terrorists and return to the land of their ancestors?

Regardless of the outcome, we extend our best wishes for your continued dedication to representing our communities and for your ongoing efforts in contributing to the progress and well-being of the United Kingdom.
United Nations report: Experts concerned by forced conversion through marriage in Pakistan
United Nations bodies have once again highlighted the alarming situation facing religious minorities in Pakistan. Across reports from UN agencies, US government commissions, Pakistani human rights organisations, and international NGOs, a consistent and deeply troubling pattern emerges:
- Abduction of minority Hindu girls and women
- Coercion or manipulation into religious conversion
- Immediate or forced marriage
- Weak legal protections, with instances of judicial validation
There is growing concern that these abuses are not only persistent but worsening over time.
A small selection of recent reports underscores this pattern:
- OHCHR / UN Experts (2026): UN experts concerned by forced conversion through marriage in Pakistan

- OHCHR / UN Experts (2024): Pakistan: UN experts alarmed by lack of protection for minority girls from forced religious conversions and forced marriage

US: Mandirs under attack
The surge in attacks on Hindu Mandirs in recent years across the U.S. has reached a critical point, sparking a national conversation on religious safety and the rising tide of Hinduphobia.
From the high-profile desecration of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Chino Hills, California, to similar incidents in New York and Indiana, the pattern is clear: Hindu places of worship are being targeted with hate speech and political vandalism. These acts aren't just property damage; they are attempts to intimidate a peaceful community and disrupt the sanctity of their spiritual homes.
Religious freedom is a cornerstone of our society.
In each country Hindus have migrated to, they have contributed to the economy and are one of the most law abiding minority groups.

Standing in solidarity with the Jewish community in London and beyond.
Hate and violence against any community must be condemned, confronted, and stopped.
Words are not enough. We need action: stronger protections, swift justice, and real accountability for those who spread violence and extremism.
An attack on one community is an attack on all.

INSIGHT UK expresses its profound shock and sorrow at the stabbing attack in Golders Green, London. We stand in unequivocal solidarity with the Jewish community at this distressing time.
It is deeply concerning that insufficient action appears to be taken to protect vulnerable minorities, including Jews, Hindus, and Sikhs in the United Kingdom, from radicalised extremists. We call for urgent and decisive measures to ensure the safety, security, and dignity of all communities.

India – Mangaluru: Islamist Gets 10-Year Sentence for Terror Attempt Using a Pressure Cooker
This week, Mohammed Shariq, an ISIS-linked operative, was sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment in connection with the 2022 Mangaluru pressure cooker blast case.
On November 19, 2022, Shariq carried an explosive divice hidden inside a pressure cooker. He was reportedly planning to detonate it at the Kadri Manjunath Temple to spread terror.
However, the bomb detonated prematurely on his lap due to a timer error. He set the timer for 9 seconds instead of 90 minutes, causing the device to explode inside the auto rickshaw before reaching the target.
Shariq was allegedly radicalised online, trained in bomb-making using DIY videos, and had scouted locations in the days leading up to the attack. Fake IDs and explosive materials were later recovered from his residence.
The public was fortunate this time—but will temple visitors always be this lucky?

Goa Inquisition (1560-1812): Forgotten Hindu history
The Goa Inquisition (1560–1812) remains one of the most harrowing yet "buried" chapters of Hindu persecution. Established by the Portuguese crown at the request of Francis Xavier, its primary objective was to enforce Catholic orthodoxy, but it quickly devolved into a systematic campaign of terror against Goa's Hindu population.
While the Inquisition technically held jurisdiction over "New Christians," it functioned as a tool for the total erasure of Hindu culture and faith.
Despite its longevity and brutality, the Goa Inquisition is often glossed over in mainstream global history. Unlike other colonial atrocities, this institutionalized persecution was largely scrubbed from records or reframed as "missionary zeal."
Acknowledging this history isn't about bitterness—it's about honoring the resilience of those who fought to keep their heritage alive against centuries of systemic oppression.
