So much for a restful bank holiday! Started off with an early morning spin class, then 5k on the treadmill, followed by a boxercise class. Not done spin or boxercise before but loved it! Now resting for a bit and seeing what the day brings!
I have no idea where my sudden pace has come from, but yesterday saw the Chester Zoo 10k, and not only was it another PB, I came first in my age category! I’m feeling very pleased with myself, and it was also great to meet up with a number of friends there. Happy days!!
Testing but enjoyable police cross country this afternoon in Leeds and thankfully the weather was better than Manchester! Great to see so many WYP ex-colleagues there today, and always nice to meet up with the usual crowd from other forces. Now home and it’s snowing again! 😂😂
Two weeks ago I ran a marathon PB and thought I would never get near that again. Today at the Rome Marathon however I managed to knock 10 minutes off that PB. I think I deserved the post run ice cream today!
Rome 5k fun run this morning and possibly the smallest medal I’ve ever got! 😂😂. Took it relatively easy and as it was just short of 5k I rejoined the run and ended up jogging back to the hotel through very crowded streets. Some great sights and a fantastic GF ice cream after!
It was a very hilly TUI Cyprus Marathon for me yesterday, wasn’t expecting much however despite the heat and the hills I managed a PB, estatic doesn’t even come close! What a marathon too, the start at Aphrodite Rock, a special sunrise, and amazing views all round!
This morning saw a lovely visit into the mountains for the Cyprus Wine Run. A lovely if not hilly 5k through a lovely village with amazing scenery, and a medal and a bottle of wine at the end! Then followed the wine tasting where clearly I had too much! 😂😂.
What an amazing 2 weeks in Japan, but now home. In between sight seeing, I’ve completed 2 Parkruns (a PB on 1 of them), the Osaka Marathon, the Tokyo Marathon Friendship Run and the amazing Tokyo Marathon, an incredible experience, what a country!
Today I conquered the Osaka marathon! It wasn’t the quickest of marathons as the heat took its toll (it was snowing here 10 days ago!) and along with leg cramp I didn’t feel great, but I finished!
So, today’s Parkrun found me in Osaka Japan, it was very hilly but I loved it especially running through the bamboo forest, and I now have my Japanese Parkrun profile flag!
Post Osaka Parkrun ice cream and it was a good one! Found a small place that did gluten free waffle cones, and went for something different and tried a scoop of baked sweet potato ice cream as in my head this couldn’t work. Wow!! The cone and the ice cream were absolutely amazing
What can I say about this afternoon apart from A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!! I’ve always been interested in the samurai and thought I would take advantage of being in Japan and booked a samurai experience. It was brilliant, and I loved every second of it!!
