@MahalingMukesh , I humbly request your urgent attention to the shortage of Government MBBS seats in Odisha for 2026–27.

The reservation policy has affected many meritorious students, while the new MCC counselling system has also caused inconvenience. Reports of candidates holding seats in both MCC & OJEE counselling may be leading to seat blocking.

Sir, kindly look into this matter seriously and consider increasing Government MBBS seats before/by Round 3 of OJEE counselling, giving more deserving students an opportunity.

I also request @mcc_india to examine the issue of possible seat blocking and ensure efficient utilization of available seats.

कुछ दिन पहले हमें बहुत सारे NEET स्टूडेंट्स ने कहा कि ओडिशा का केस भी देखें, वहाँ मेडिकल में आरक्षण 20% से सीधा 50% बढ़ा दिया गया है! हमको कॉलेज नहीं मिल पा रहे!

अब जब हम केस लड़ने को तैयार हैं, वो भी मुफ्त में, तो को��� petitioner बनने को सामने नहीं आ रहा!

कमाल ये है कि सबको solution चाहिए लेकिन खुद सामने नहीं आना चाहते!

We are going to challenge the newly introduced reservation in Medical colleges in Odisha soon.

For this we need petitioners who have appeared in NEET exam this year & have been adversely affected by new reservation policy.
E.g. had a good rank but missed the colleges they could get easily last year (with same rank).

Parents of such students are also eligible.

Today, 21 September, NEET-UG counselling is nearing its final stages, yet the additional seats are still awaited.

I respectfully request you to kindly look into the matter and ensure that the promised 150 Government MBBS seats are added at the earliest, preferably before/for Round 3 of NEET-UG counselling.

This would provide much-needed opportunities to deserving students of Odisha and give effect to the commitment made by your good office.

The Odisha Government has increased reservation, resulting in a significant reduction in the number of Unreserved Open seats available for MBBS aspirants.

There is an urgent need to increase Government MBBS seats for the academic year 2026–27 to help compensate for the limited number of seats available in the Unreserved Open category.

This is a humble but urgent appeal regarding the availability of Government MBBS seats in Odisha.

With the ongoing OJEE 2026 counselling, many deserving students are facing uncertainty over Government MBBS seats. I respectfully request the Govt. of Odisha to kindly examine whether additional Government MBBS seats can be increased/approved for this counselling session, if feasible, before the next round.

Even a limited increase in seats could provide an opportunity to deserving students who are currently left without a Government MBBS seat.

This is the current situation of Odisha:
• In the attached photo you can clearly see at what rank a ST category student is alloted a Government Medical College.
• But in the state a general category student with no sub category with 30k AIR is not eligible to get any Government Medical College.
•Till last year a General category candidate was able to get a Government Medical College at a rank of 36k.
*Reservation should not be completely eradicated, atleast it should be reformed in such a way that any meritorious candidate wouldn't have to suffer.*

Fact-
Before BJP came in power, reservation in Odisha was 20%.

In 2026, BJP increased reservation
-ST quota increased from 12% to 22.5%
-SC quota increased from 8% to 16.25%
-SEBC (newly introduced quota): 11.25%

So increased reservation has led to very high cutoffs for GC now.
