📜Think-tanker's lament: a poetic interlude...
The pundit’s chest tightens
as Europe far-Rightens
and the Centre drifts further away
What happens next
is anyone’s guess
as there’s not enough Left to say
In a sort of Guardian latter-day version of Pale Fire, this poem is really good but the comments are where the real action is

Monday's PM is weak and frit,
Tuesday's PM is full of shit.
Wednesday's PM is always wrong,
Thursday's PM won't last long.
Friday's PM is lying and lying,
Saturday's PM parties hard while you're dying.
And the PM on the Sabbath day
Gets trolled on Kuenssberg, and then runs away.
@twitmericks An MP (whose name is unknown)
Was caught watching porn on his phone.
The House is offended:
He may be suspended,
And then must debate on his own.

Is monetisation a curse,
And will it make Twitterland worse?
While Twitter's top scholars
Want dollars for follers,
To poets, the charge is perverse.

The EU, enraged and in fits,
Is tearing a drug firm to bits,
For jabs that it thought
It had paid for and bought,
Were actually sold to the Brits.
