Prime Minister Gladstone named the area of Teeside around Redcar, the ‘Infant Hercules’. At that time steel manufacture employed 40,000 people helping power the Industrial Revolution. My visits in 2012-17 coincided with the demise of this industrial powerhouse @scottishgallery
