Yes. From what I knew at the time, that was my opinion.
Since then, I've been made to believe that maybe the situation wasn't as clear as I thought. Hence the clarification today.
In the original Tweet we did say it was the venue that asked us to call them.
Earlier today I received a message and a lot of people were under the impression it was Will directly.
Just wanted to make it clear.
Regardless of your opinion about him, no mistake justifies the hate that Will constantly gets. It's shameful that some people will stop at nothing.
What I am asking for is for people to be more considerate of others.
Be kind.
This should be a moment where we stand united in support of those affected by the death of Ryan Smile. Instead some are ripping it into Will Ospreay.
To avoid any misconception we have to clarify something, Will did NOT contact us directly about unbooking Polly, the venue did.
Ryan Smile was an accomplished wrestler who unfortunately passed away 14th October at the age of 30. We are looking to raise money for his wife Alice and 2 year old son Harrison. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Please RT

No offence to anyone but having people try to manage and still being involved in wrestling or actually ever being involved in wrestling is a problem. We need an independent body with the right qualifications. No mates in wrestling. No bias.
@Dsgrntldgt@skeach101 The Polly situation pertains to IWL? And the venue of their show? Both of which don’t have anything to do with Eve? The screen shots have been shared by the IWL promoter?
Ah, yes! We unbooked Polly because of backlash to inter-gender booking, we then announced Laura Di Matteo vs Chris Renfrew as the replacement, another intergender match. 🤯
Since then, we've also had 16 (SIXTEEN) intergender matches.
We're absolutely disgusted by what we're reading.
We applaud anyone who has been brave enough to tell their stories, be it publicly or anonymously.
This has been a huge eye opener, hopefully we'll be a better scene going forward.
#SpeakingOut
We've been trying to put something decent together but fuck that, lets call a spade a spade.
Shortly after announcing @GothicLolly vs Renfrew, we got a message from the venue asking us to call them to discuss something.
In regards to what Will said about never blacklisting anyone. The promotion contacted me, asked me for an opponent, and asked for a dream match with C. Renfrew. A few hours after the graphic went up, I got this email.
It’s the end bit which got me.
The call went something like:
Will's our boy and feels uncomfortable with you booking Pollyanna.
I told them I wasn't going back on my word with Polly, but would not book her going forward.
That wasn't an option, the option was unbook Polly or lose the venue. (1st show there)
Instead of hoping some people take over brands that have been tainted by awful people, bring the already existing brands to greater heights.
Riptide, Breed, North, InOut
There's some bloody good promotions already out there
