INTACH, Architectural Heritage Division in collaboration with Cortex* is conducting a series of workshops on structural understanding and traditional practices with the first workshop on June 5, 2023 focusing on the construction practices in the Himalayan region.
Barh ki Chowki is one of the oldest police chowkis in Delhi located at Old Rohtak Road. Built in the early 1800s, has been mentioned in Mirza Sangin Beg’s memoir Sair-ul Manazil written in 1821, which is known to be the first attempt to systematically list the monuments of Delhi
and a partially broken roof. Followed by which, emergency works of restoring the walls and the roof were undertaken and funded by INTACH. The restoration work is currently under progress, which is funded by the National Cultural Fund (NCF).

INTACH UTSAV 2023
Origami Workshop
As part of INTACH UTSAV, Architectural Heritage Division organized an origami workshop on 23rd February 2023. The workshop was conducted by Anand Vishwanathan, an architect and visual communication design professional.
The workshop was open to all and attended by about 35 participants. Anand explained through a presentation, the vast scale and variety of models that can be done using the art of Origami.
INTACH UTSAV 2023
Lime Workshop
A hands-on workshop on the traditional building material, lime was held as part of INTACH Utsav on 22nd and 23rd February 2023. This was conducted with the senior mistris who work on conservation initiatives of Architectural Heritage Division.
They got the opportunity to construct arches in brick masonry with lime mortar. In collaboration with INTACH Art & Material Heritage Division, testing of lime mortars was undertaken simultaneously with a technical expert from the Lime Research and Training Centre, Lucknow.
