Reading this thread was incredibly hurtful. We’re working so hard to become more sensitive about the complexities of minority lives nowadays. Yet, I was quite startled by the dismissive, almost sneering, comments posted here, especially about Cubans.

We can be black, of mixed race, Asian, white...We all don't think alike. One of my very best friends (best man at my wedding)is Puerto Rican.
