For those posting about the pineapple jars, remember when this went viral years ago?
That bag of sugar wasn't enough for all of the trays of sweet potatoes.
"Not because Japan is gentler by nature."
Japanese people are genuinely gentler by nature than most other ethnes. A bunch of Japanese people, even if they have access to guns, are very peaceful. Japanese diaspora consistently has low rates of violence across the world, even when they have access to guns.
Because that's what being peaceful means, it means able to create conflict but choosing not to.
If you aren't creating conflict is because you lack the means to, then you were never peaceful. You're were just weak.
@AuronMacintyre I'm aware of the plans and cancelations within the EV space. This is the sort of news I follow.
Legacy automakers have shit the bed when it comes to their brand strategy and EVs. Their stupid decisions will be to the benefit of companies like Tesla and BYD. Writing on the wall.
@hbdchick So many good choices. And two weeks will go by in a flash.
How about an island vacation. But instead of the popular carribian islands, split time between Faroe the Shetland islands and the Orkneys.
@Ahrakeen@AuronMacintyre The model y exists within, roughly, the same market segment as the afformentionrd rav4, depending on trim and options.
We're no longer in the days of Tesla making six figure sedans.
And the range is basically a non issue now, mostly FUD, which is why it outsells the rav4.
I think part of what Aella is seeing is the benefit of extremely stable and forgiving social webs.
Having a better social web is good in its own sake, but allows things to exist that would otherwise be impossible.

If all the smartest+most rational ppl got their own civilization on it would be LEAGUES better than this one, just more functional in ways we can't even imagine, and like 90% of it would be downstream of their ability to understand incentives and ripple effects
"It's not fair that I need to be more diligent and responsible than previous generations."
Pretty much.
Now let's figure out how set you up for success regardless.
What I'm saying is that boomers did silly things with money when they were young and things turned out alright.
But it won't be the same for you, Millennial, Gen Z, Gen A. If you don't take control of your financial future better than boomers did, you're screwed.
If you were to pay $28 dollars a meal, 3x a day, that's $30,660 a year. The take home pay of someone making 70k a year is ~55k, that's way too much to spend of food regularly.
Now, young people make silly financial choices. A tale as old as time. ๐งต
@Strippin If the owner of a casino encouraged you to not take up gambling, especially if you were young and didn't have much discretionary income and zero savings/investments, how would you feel about him?
@WalrusMegazord Something that didn't feel extreme, 28@lunch, turned into a habit that is actually quite extreme as they push towards 30k annual food spend.

@WalrusMegazord Someone not earning much might be be able to justify 28 lunch once a month, but if it becomes a regular occurrence and they get used to food delivery apps or something, they're going to bleed money quickly.
