Kyiv. An absolutely horrific night.
📽 This is what a European capital looks like in the dead of night.
Five years and the so-called civilized world is still ignoring russian terror.
Massive Russian attacks against Ukraine.
Exclusively civilian targets and infrastructure were attacked—something Russia will, as always, deny.
The ceiling at the Lukyanivska metro station has collapsed; those seeking shelter can barely breathe.
The market in Lukyanivka is on fire as a result of the Russian attack.
In Poland, air defenses have been placed on high alert, and NATO fighter jets have scrambled—not to help, but merely to take a few photos for the family album.
Death, destruction, suffering. For over four years, Europe has done nothing but watch.
Details about the rescue op for the U.S. Weapon Systems Officer, via a U.S. military official:
"The mountain top area on the left is where the WSO was hiding (he ejected 5ish miles northwest of there). The right area is the makeshift landing strip where they landed 2 C-130s and had 4 MH-6 Little Birds.
"One Little Bird flew to that mountain top area and rescued the WSO and brought him back to the landing strip. And of course the two C-130s' nose gears got stuck in the dirt. So after a few hours they had to bring in three AFSOC Dash-8s to fly out the rescued WSO and the 100 or so personnel involved in the op." 1/2
Zelenskyy: Iran shot down our plane. Killed our passengers. Didn't admit it. Then the full-scale war, they handed Shaheds to Russia, killing our civilians
I asked them to stop. They promised no more than one batch and carried on lying. I think of them as accomplices of Russia 2/
Over the past few hours, our armed forces, with the support of the French Defence, have boarded an oil tanker belonging to the Russian shadow fleet. The vessel is currently being escorted to the port of Zeebrugge, where it will be seized.
Operation Blue Intruder was carried out by a team of exceptionally brave service members. Excellent work.
More information tomorrow morning.
Thanks for the excellent cooperation @AnneliesVl @jeanluccrucke @BernardQuintin_@prevotmaxime@CaVautrin .
This is not an AI-generated, Hollywood-style horror. This is the reality in Ukraine, Kostyantynivka right now. This is how Russia is using its “precision” ammunition.
I doubt anyone in the Kremlin imagined four years ago that in 2026 Ukraine could strike with Ukrainian-made weapons the heart of the Russian oil industry, such as this Sunday attack on the pipeline node in Tatarstan some 1,000 miles away, and it wouldn’t even make news.
The inevitable conclusion from the released Putin-Bush transcripts:
Putin didn’t invade Ukraine because he opposed NATO enlargement.
Putin opposed NATO enlargement because it would have prevented his goal of invading and eliminating Ukraine.
The ideas he had a quarter century ago - that Ukraine (and Kazakhstan) are “artificial countries” that have been “given away” by Russia and therefore must return — are the ideas he still holds today.
🤡 The American “peace plan” contains phrases that were clearly written in Russian first
The Guardian reports that the U.S. “peace plan” includes several lines that were almost certainly drafted in Russian before being translated. In English they sound unnatural and out of place — as if the document was written or edited by people who think in Russian.
The clearest example is the third point: “Russia is expected not to invade neighbouring countries, and NATO is expected not to expand further.”
The construction “it is expected” is unusual in English but is a direct calque from Russian.
The document also contains other Russian-style word choices — such as “ambiguities” and “to enshrine” — which look just as odd in this context.
All of this has fueled suspicions that at least some of the contributors to the text were linked to Moscow.
Zelensky: We are facing one of the most dangerous periods in Ukrainian history, a choice between losing our dignity and freedom and losing US support. We choose dignity. My answer is my oath of office. I did not betray Ukraine in Feb 2022 and we won’t betray in now.
JUST IN: Zelensky said that Ukraine will not accept the peace agreement proposed by the United States
According to him, Washington received its answer long ago — back on May 20, 2019, when he publicly vowed to defend the country’s independence and sovereignty.
Russia escalates, we do nothing, Russia escalates more, we do nothing, Russia escalates even more, we do nothing... guys, I think I am starting to see a pattern here.
Russian military aircraft once again violated NATO airspace—this time over Estonia. Outrageous. Russia’s destabilizing activity is expanding into new countries and directions. They use every tool: from interference in political processes, as in Romania and Moldova, to violations of airspace, as in Poland, Romania, and now Estonia.
These are not accidents. This is a systematic Russian campaign directed against Europe, against NATO, against the West. And it requires a systemic response. Strong action must be taken—both collectively and individually by each nation.
Russia must feel increasing pain from the world’s pressure, first and foremost through its economy, and that is best ensured by sanctions. At the same time, Russia’s war losses must continue to rise, which is best achieved by a strong Ukrainian army.
I thank everyone who helps. Europe, the United States, the Group of Seven—strong action is required from all.
Last night, Poland’s airspace was breached 19 times by drones manufactured in Russia. Our assessment is that they did not veer off course but were deliberately targeted.
Poland, EU and NATO will not be intimidated and we will continue to stand by the brave people of Ukraine. It’s time for the leadership of Russia to understand that the attempt to rebuild Europe’s last empire is doomed to fail.
Last night the Polish airspace was violated by a huge number of Russian drones. Those drones that posed a direct threat were shot down. I am in constant communication with the Secretary General of NATO and our allies.
