Google DeepMind co-founder and Nobel Prize-winning AI scientist Demis Hassabis is stepping away from his day-to-day operational role at DeepMind to take on a broader position within Alphabet. Hassabis will become chair of DeepMind and chief scientist of Alphabet, a move he says will give him more time to focus on long-term strategy and scientific breakthroughs. He also highlighted his work at Isomorphic Labs, the AI-powered drug discovery company spun out of DeepMind. The leadership reshuffle comes as Google competes with OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta and Chinese AI companies in an increasingly intense race toward more capable AI systems. Hassabis, who has said he has been working toward artificial general intelligence (AGI) his entire life, now says he feels it may be getting close. The changes also come amid a broader wave of senior departures from Google, including longtime engineer Jeff Dean and other prominent AI researchers.

Auterion's Skynode S gives Ukraine's cheap Shrike FPV drones fire-and-forget terminal guidance — the operator designates a target, flips a switch, and the drone tracks it autonomously using only its onboard camera, with no GPS required.

The Anzac class frigates provide balanced air defense, surface warfare and anti submarine capability for long range naval operations. Their modular design and modern sensor suite allow them to adapt to evolving mission demands while escorting larger task groups.
The HH-60W Jolly Green II is America's premier combat rescue helicopter, designed to recover downed pilots in hostile territory with advanced protection, extended range, and mission-critical rescue capabilities.
Israel's Iron Wasp uses an autonomous interceptor drone to detect, pursue, and destroy hostile UAVs, providing mobile forces with a fast, AI-enabled counter-drone defense against evolving aerial threats.
After spending over $1 billion, the U.S. Army canceled the M10 Booker program, ending its next-generation light tank effort after the vehicle became too heavy for its intended mission.
Vertical Replenishment (VERTREP) enables warships to receive fuel, ammunition, food, and supplies by helicopter while underway, keeping naval task forces mission-ready without returning to port.
