The Department of the Interior, alongside the USFS, and California state law enforcement, is actively monitoring a small brush fire reported in California within the last 30 minutes.
We remain in close coordination with the locals and will provide updates as time progresses.
The Office of Secretary of the Interior David Fisher will be closed on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, due to personal business.
Normal operations will resume on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

Without this merger, the DoA risks reduced activity and diminished effectiveness.

Today Interior Secretary Fisher and I visited an animal rehab facility at Patapsco Valley State Park. This center takes injured wildlife from around the globe for special and modern treatment that no other nation has and is critical for protecting wildlife.

This legislation will help the DOI better manage our public lands, and responsibly manage our natural resources.
