NEW ARTICLE ALERT! This one is about ambassador animal encounters at zoos and aquariums, something that is a huge issue that doesn't get covered enough. Captive CON$servation as Jeff Kremer (a huge inspiration for this article) always likes to say! https://t.co/7yaFSliIlm
Urgent Call For Help! – Keenesburg, CO -The Sanctuary is in dire need of an attorney that can help protect the animals from developers who are blatantly violating the terms of a contract they have with our organization. 10 years ago two women @SherryWigaard and @Velois Smith decided to apply for a PUD Subdivision to be built next door to our Sanctuary, but thankfully, Weld County made them secure a contract with us to help protect the animals.
The contract had terms that would help mitigate the chances of people moving into this new subdivision and then forcing the Sanctuary to move or shut down. The developers previously lived here in Colorado but moved to Florida many years ago, which resulted with the development coming to a halt.
However, these ladies decided they now want to make money from the development and are now moving forward with the subdivision construction and sale of homes. HOWEVER, THEY HAVE CEASED ADHEREING TO THE CONDITIONS OF OUR CONTRACT! They have been ghosting the Sanctuary and ignoring all of our efforts to contact and work with them - and are moving ahead at a high rate of speed. By not following the stipulations of this very important contract, all of the animals at our Keenesburg facility are at risk!
If you or anyone you know is a practicing attorney and can help us stop the progress of this development and force these two women to adhere to the very import contract conditions THEY AGREED TO, we would greatly appreciate you and/or them getting in touch with us. Time is of the essence, as they are attempting to fill the subdivision right now! Call the Sanctuary at 303-536-0118 or email us at
[email protected].

Just published a new article! Recently I have had many conversations with people about captive breeding. In comments of articles about the births of animals at zoos, people believe it is done for conservation. Read this to learn why that is not the case! https://t.co/HAaFuBnDQv

Picture Of The Day!
Location: The Wild Animal Sanctuary, Keenesburg, CO.
"Pachuca", a name that evokes the ancient grandeur of Aztec emperors, aptly befits this magnificent rescued Tiger.
At the Wild Animal Sanctuary, Pachuca the tiger thrives.
Surrounded by the sights and sounds of her natural habitat, she's found a place where she can simply be a tiger. The love and support of individuals make this possible, ensuring she has everything she needs to feel safe and content. Here, freedom isn't just the absence of bars; it's the ability to explore, rest, and play as her instincts guide her. Pachuca's well-being is a testament to the positive impact we can have on even the wildest creatures through kindness and dedication.

Lions walking with tourists are not tame - this is a 🚩RED FLAG 🚩
These lions go through intense training that’s no different to a circus to make it possible for facilities to host “walking safaris”.
By supporting this tourist activity, you fund the problem.

Thinking of volunteering with lions in SA? 🦁
Before you book, there are a few things you need to look out for.
IT IS 🚩A RED FLAG🚩 IF THEY:
1. Don’t name the facility you will be visiting
2. Promise close interactions
3. Allow you to hand-rear cubs
