#Review#Peddi had a blockbuster story at its core; a more grounded treatment could have made it truly unforgettable.
#Peddi is one of those films that wins you over more with its heart than its screenplay. The first half stays within a familiar commercial zone and doesn’t always hit the right notes, but once the film reaches the pre-interval stretch and Massa Massa sequence, it finds its footing and delivers some genuinely engaging moments. The second half has a few pacing issues, yet the emotional core keeps things moving.
Ram Charan is undoubtedly the soul of the film, delivering a sincere and committed performance, while A.R. Rahman’s music adds tremendous emotional weight. Buchi Babu Sana deserves credit for bringing an honest, rooted story to the screen.
In fact, the film’s biggest strength is its story, and one can’t help but feel that if it had been treated in a more grounded, uncompromising manner like Karnan, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, or Bison, without leaning into commercial conventions, it could have elevated itself into something truly special. Even with its flaws, it remains a heartfelt and watchable entertainer.
7/10 - Good
