And has hosted Cultural Diversity Month at RCS for 4 years and various small concerts in the free time he gets. He truly is excited to come and support the artists and the community in what will be a great week of performance!
Before we start counting down to Into the New 2020 and the amazing artists presenting work at this years festival, we want to introduce you to our magnificent festival host.......
Sanjay Lago!!!!
Sanjay is a graduate of the 2019 cohort of Contemporary Performance Practice degree.
But this isn’t Sanjay’s first walk in the park at Hosting. Last year he was one of the new voices brought on to host Scotland’s largest South Asian Festival, The Glasgow Mela, with an audience of just under 10,000 people throughout the day in Kelvingrove Park.
This supported by the RCS Make It Happen fund and also a new work in progress looking at Dyslexia and South Asian communities called ‘Trying to Stop A Tidal Wave’.
Sanjay is really excited to be hosting the 2020 Into the New Festival. The 21st year of the CPP course too!
He is someone who doesn’t know how to sit still and is constantly on the go, currently developing his final show he did at RCS for Bridge Week, Ask Me If I’m Okay, which looks at male suicide and south Asian communities.
Sanjay is an interdisciplinary artist and theatre maker whose main work is creating autobiographical work around themes such as Race, Identity, Sexuality and Mental Health. He has returned also to acting as well as running devising workshops in his old Primary School.
