This morning, our team was tasked by An Garda Síochána, alongside the Coast Guard, RNLI, Civil Defence and local volunteers to assist in the search for a missing female swimmer. We send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Johnny Duhan who was found yesterday.

At 3:11pm today, we received a call through @AmbulanceNAS regarding an injured walker on Knockma Hill. With assistance from a National Ambulance Service (NAS) advanced paramedic, the casualty was treated and transferred to a NAS ambulance.

We wish the casualty a speedy recovery!

Callout this evening to Diarmuid & Grainne's Cave in north Sligo. 2 individuals were exploring the cave and found themselves stranded by deteriorating weather. Rather than taking risks in very poor conditions, they called for assistance and were guided down safely by the Team.

A Sniper Team from the Army Ranger Wing (ARW) has secured first place at the prestigious International Special Operations Tactical Sniper Competition held in Latvia from August 17 to 21.

This year's event saw participation from 26 sniper teams representing the United States, Europe, and Canada, all competing in challenging scenarios designed to replicate complex real-world conditions.

The competition tested the skills and teamwork of each team through a series of demanding day and night exercises, emphasising the high level of proficiency required in modern tactical operations. The ARW team's outstanding performance not only highlights their exceptional training and dedication but also establishes a benchmark for excellence in international military standards.

This victory is a testament to the rigorous training and commitment of the ARW, and afforded them the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities alongside some of the best special operations forces in the world. The success of the ARW team at this competition underscores the importance of continuous development and adaptation in military training, ensuring that personnel are well-prepared to meet the evolving challenges the current security landscape.
