@3Trumpeteer@farmingandJesus Statements of incomparability require a gradable predicate (a property that can exist in degrees)
Isaiah 45 is written in a way to communicate blanket exclusivity.
There's not a single Jew who interpreted the text like this, this is a classic case of bad faith eisegesis.
@3Trumpeteer@farmingandJesus You disagree with what God is saying in the book of Isaiah 45:5-6 not my understanding of it.
"I am the Lord, and there is no other,
besides me there is no God;"
"I am the Lord and there is no other"
Context never eliminates and can't change an absolute statement.
@3Trumpeteer@farmingandJesus Isaiah was telling us about what God said about Himself.
God makes claims about His nature in Isaiah. Like in Isaiah 9:6 we learn that Jesus is mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace.
2 Thessalonians 2:4 Paul warns of people calling themselves God in God's temple.
@5Solas God knows better then us, I prayed that things would work out with my ex when I was a teen. I'm glad it didn't as God had better plans. I'm happily married to a woman who loves God!
@3Trumpeteer@farmingandJesus There's many. We can start from what started this conversation.
1. There's no God the mother in the Bible and we aren't Gods Isaiah 43:10
3. We do not qualify for salvation, our justification is vicarious though Jesus via double imputation Romans 4:22-24, 2 Corinthians 5:21
@3Trumpeteer@farmingandJesus Irrelevant to the conversation.
Not being a ceasationist doesn't make you a Mormon.
How can you justify your beliefs that objectively contradict Scripture? Do you really think it's God speaking though you telling you to contradict what He previously said?
@3Trumpeteer@farmingandJesus Some protestants beleive that and while I disagree that's okay.
Even if I grant for the sake of argument that direct revelation is still on going, it doesn't change the fact God is unchanging. Direct revelation from God will never and has never contradicted his previous word.
@3Trumpeteer@farmingandJesus Jude 1:14β15, which states that Enoch was already warning them, how did the people in Enoch's day they looked back to what Adam said. How do we trust what Adam said well he spoke directly with God.
This is how prophecy works, it's a unbroken chain.
@3Trumpeteer@farmingandJesus Yes if what's revealed doesn't contradict Scripture.
In Acts 17:11 the Bereans didn't just take Paul at his word. They made sure what he said didn't contradict what God has already said in scripture.
They were praised for their noble character for testing Paul's testimony.
@3Trumpeteer@farmingandJesus Direct revelation that didn't contradict God's Word.
There's two types of direct revelation. The type that contradicts God's word is demonic revelation.
1 Timothy 4:1: β...some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons.β
@LSC4878@farmingandJesus If I believe Ra is Jesus Christ it'll never save me. The Israelites attributed all of God's works to the golden calf and called it Yahweh, they distorted who God is!
I don't want you to say I have done many might works in your name and hear depart from me I never knew you.
@3Trumpeteer@farmingandJesus Is scripture not the Father's words, the word of God? Unlike John your asking us to ignore the scripture LDS doctrine contradicts. John didn't contradict God's word, your comparison is nonsense. Maybe you'd have a point if John contradicted the OT.
@3Trumpeteer@farmingandJesus Faith was gifted by God as he saw how Jesus fulfilled the prophecies. He back his claims up in Acts 2:27 quoting Psalms 16
1 John 4:6 "Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error."
@3Trumpeteer@farmingandJesus Of course, you agree with 2 personal revaluation. When one's own feelings are put on the same level as the Words of the living God of course you'd believe whatever you want and say the Bible is wrong.
@LSC4878@farmingandJesus Your beliefs damn people to hell. This isn't my personal opinion it's the opinion of God's Word.
Just like Elijah mocking Baal and their false prophets I love you too much to hide the truth. Mormons have wondered away from the faith and distorted who God is.
@LSC4878@farmingandJesus There's no God the mother and we are not little gods
2. Our source of revelation is the word of God
3. We do not qualify for salvation we are robed in Jesus's merit by Faith and we do not become gods
4. Pentecost means we don't need a temple Born again beleivers are the temple
