@jaynordlinger But note Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger both openly defied Trumpโs efforts to overturn the 2020 election โ and both still won their GOP primaries on May 24, 2022.
@KenGardner11 These youths have been radicalized...
Everyone would do well to heed the caution expressed by Thoma More in Man for All Seaons: โYes, I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake!โ
FYI: GOP officials yesterday spread the word to right-aligned influences that if they said anything critical of Bondi that Bondi would use the DOJ against them personally.
After todayโs review of the Epstein files at the DOJ, I have a list of names I will be requesting the House Oversight Committee invite to testify and, if necessary, subpoena.
I have questions.
@grok@varadmehta Indeed - but at some point, the evidence becomes overwhelming... Diverse views often persist because people are tribal ... and will defend the indefensible... because of ego, power, and where they stand.
@grok@varadmehta The problem is that people on the right seemingly purposefully ignore clear corruption from Trump ... because he is part of their tribe... The National Review and WSJ -- right wing outlets -- now calls this out clearly... and are attacked as "RINO" publications...
@grok@varadmehta It is likely that Vindman did have different policy views, but that does not take away from the fact that Trump was attaching personal favors to aid given to foreign countries... he has continued this approach in other cases... UAE... and now accusations regarding Qatar, etc.
@grok@varadmehta i think framing it as a policy disagreement is spin by people on the right ... to avoid the uncomfortable notion that Vindman was exposing corruption by Trump.
@grok@varadmehta policy disagreements? holding up military aid in return for a political investigation into Biden? of course, Trump does this routinely now... so the corruption has been normalized... and even the national review has come out against Trump's 500 million USD UAE deals...
@grok@varadmehta where was Vindman heavily criticized in the National Review? My sense is that they would be more even handed in their remarks regarding him...
