@Druox So by that logic, if you eat at McDonald’s, you’re a murderer; if you consume cocoa, you’re exploiting children; and if you use electronic devices, you’re taking advantage of resources and workers in developing countries, so you’re a labor exploiter.
YOU are! Not the company...
@KibutoVT If you buy and use a product made by a company whose CEO mistreated workers, does that make you an abuser too?
If an AI company trained on stolen material, blame the company! What exactly have the users stolen?
@KibutoVT Normalize calling meat eaters murderers.
Normalize calling milk drinkers animal abusers.
Normalize calling chocolate buyers child exploiters.
Normalize calling people who use iPhones or wear branded clothes labor exploiters.
Is the consumer responsible for a company’s actions?
@Corruption_VA@Joughbro You’re writing this from a phone, so by that logic, you’re exploiting workers in developing countries to get the components used to make it. I pay for AI, so I’m a thief. That’s the logic, right?
@Various_YT17@Framer_X@Joughbro They wouldn’t really be stealing from artists, but using works owned by big studios; the artists were already paid for their work. If Disney, Netflix... make deals with AI companies, do you think artists will see any of that money? It’ll just move from one big company to another
@dr_koupop@Joughbro I’m somewhere in the middle. I like AI, but I’m also concerned about it and hate many things about it. The problem is that nowadays, it feels like you’re either an “AI bro” or an anti-AI artist, with no middle ground.
@debonairdandy@Joughbro I’m against eating meat, but that doesn’t mean I insult or disrespect people who do. Just because you think something is wrong doesn’t give you the right to insult or belittle others. The only thing you achieve is making people not take you seriously.
@J_UANCHO_O@Binkje4@Joughbro Taking the episodes with the fewest views and comparing it to the one with the most views is stupid, but hey, if percentages make you happy, go for it. Take care!
@J_UANCHO_O@Binkje4@Joughbro You keep going on about numbers and percentages 😅 I’m just saying that YouTube’s algorithm has a huge impact on how many views an episode of a series gets, that’s all. I don’t care whether the AI series has 5 million views or 2 million actual views.
@J_UANCHO_O@Binkje4@Joughbro The only explanation I could think of was that the algorithm simply didn’t recommend episode 3 as much, but well, if the numbers are the numbers...
@J_UANCHO_O@Binkje4@Joughbro I’m talking about The Amazing Digital Circus. I don’t understand why episode 4 has more views than episode 3 if it has such a loyal community. And if the numbers don’t lie, then I honestly have no idea what the numbers are supposed to be telling us xD
@Pirulin93413426@Joughbro This isn’t the example of a “successful” series. It’s an example of an episode made by someone with experience and a strong personal taste. The other series I shared was Kavan The Kid ; that one has millions of views, although I think they may have run ads for it.
@J_UANCHO_O@Binkje4@Joughbro Yeah, but there are differences of 50M views between episodes, and episode 3 even has fewer views than episode 4. A lot depends on YouTube’s algorithm, you might not even realize a new episode is out simply because YouTube doesn’t show it to you. 🤷
@J_UANCHO_O@Binkje4@Joughbro There’s usually quite a lot of variation in views between episodes of any series. Just look at The Amazing Digital Circus; some episodes have a difference of over 100M views. So I don’t think we can draw many conclusions based on view counts alone.
@SSepiol33883@Joughbro I mean, his art is good and he’s clearly talented, so I think he can speak from experience. But I also don’t think there’s any need to be so arrogant with some of his comments. He can disagree and debate while still being respectful… or maybe not, because it’s Twitter xD
@J_UANCHO_O@Binkje4@Joughbro But then how come all the episodes keep getting views? I’d understand if only the first few got views because of curiosity, but it does seem like there are people who genuinely watch the series.
