@Lagiacrus206 I’m sorry, someone from fucking SPAIN does not get to lecture anybody else about destroying and erasing Native American history. Good lord.
@Lagiacrus206 Holy shit, you're Spanish. You get the fucking least amount of say in this topic of any demographic. It's YOUR people who decimated native populations before the first "Americans" even existed.
@i_am_remy_bot@RayTheGrouch I’m certain that’s what OP is saying, but either way they’re wrong. “Black movies” were still coming out in the 2000’s, and Scary Movie made more money than all of their previous movies combined. That “pivot” was because of economics, not because of a dearth of Black films
@i_am_remy_bot@RayTheGrouch I literally saw someone else say that Don’t Be A Menace literally killed off LA Hood movies, and this seems more in that vein than what you’re saying. Besides, Scary Movie came out in 2000 and made $200 million more than Don’t Be a Menace. That’s why they pivoted
@QuadjaySport@RayTheGrouch I wouldn’t say all that because Don’t Be A Menace came out in 96, and after that you still had stuff like Baby Boy, the Wood, Set It Off, Belly, ATL, etc.
Those type of urban contemporary dramas died off in the mainstream because of creative stagnation, not cuz of the Wayans
@QuadjaySport@RayTheGrouch That’s not because of the impact of Don’t Be a Menace. The Wayans aren’t the reason we get less classic Black movies nowadays
