Getting back to work after the Eaton Fire has been slow, but I'm making progress! Today on stream I did the 3D CAD design for permanent air cleaners for my workshop. Tomorrow, hopefully, I can start building them.
New toy arrived! I'm back on stream this afternoon after weeks away. To prep for the new year, I'll tidy up the shop and install a new drill press. Despite terrible laryngitis, it's time to get going for 2025. Join me at https://t.co/dCeFZG0Bje!
I've got a bit of my energy back (post-influenza), so tonight I'm out walking through the neighborhood, distributing flyers to houses that have nice Christmas light displays

I built Prototype 3.0 of the holiday light spooling system yesterday -- I think this is getting close to the final design. It works pretty well but needs a few more tweaks. Today on stream I'll be testing the changes for P4.0 and testing them out. #makersgonnamake#invention
Last week's project was this new system for spooling up xmas lights so they are easy to deploy and don't tangle. Stores 200' of lights per spool, folds flat for storage.
Today on stream I'll be working on prototype 2.0. #invention#makersgonnamake#woodworking#CAD#cnc
When the trees at your campsite are too far apart for your hammocks: 1) park the car halfway in between two trees 2) hang hammocks between the trees and the car's roof rack 3) relax!
A little spur of the moment, zero-cost problem solving.

@grayovercast @DeeWestin @TamaraLuvss Ooh glad it's working for you! Is there anything you wish worked better / would change / options or attachments you wish you had?
Hey folks! Today's stream will be starting late due to the ongoing air conditioner servicing in the workshop. I estimate about 2pm PST, will keep you updated.
UPDATE: A/C guys are done, at 1:14pm. i am grabbing a quick bite and will be on as soon as I can
On my workshop livestream today (1pm-5pm Pacific) I'll be fundraising for St. Jude's Children's research hospital. There are a bunch of fun rewards you can earn, including a hardwood dice tower, or making me work in heels!

Do not, I repeat DO NOT waste your time on a trip to @HomeDepot thinking you'll get those metric bolts you need from their specialty fastener section.
Colossal waste of time.
I hate it when something I bought years ago breaks, or I need to buy more of it, and there are no brand markings and I can't remember where I bought it.
So here's today's little innovation:

One of tonight's tasks was upgrading the camera arm clamp jaws. They now have a little "tread" or texture on the TPU (polyurethane) soft jaw pads, which gives them even more grip than before. This update is in v1.1 on Printables.

Today and tonight I'm trying to tie up the last bits of development for the camera arm. That means one more revision on the clamp jaws, and adding cosmetic/safety plugs to the ends of the pipes. First couple orders for the camera arm are almost ready to go out.
Today, I got my first order for the dice tower (making two I will be building in the next week, including the one I gave away on the Moco giveaway). And last night I got my first serious request for a commission!
