It is my privilege to be a trustee & ambassador of the Erskine veterans charity. And I was deeply honoured to host the annual service of remembrance at the Erskine garden of reflection. Lest we forget. @ErskineCharity
Very honoured to open this series of talks about Helensburgh’s own John Logie Baird, the Scot who invented television, tonight. It’s 100 years since he made the first public display of his creation. Looking forward to it!
Down many decades I have worn many hats. Tonight I was honoured to represent the Secretary of State for Defence, who is busy elsewhere, at the Lord Provost’s Reserves & Cadets awards at the city chambers in Glasgow. @Lowland_RFCA@LordProvostGCC@GlasgowCC@ReportingGandL
@74frankfurt This pic was taken on Park Lane in London. I was there reporting on the event for STV news. Tyson had just cancelled a news conference & training but I got an exclusive with him outside the hotel. This is nearly 25 years ago!
Charlie Charlie one to any callsign on this net who is struggling today. I am a 30+ year veteran, Iraq & Afghan etc. DM me on this means if you need to swing a lantern or vent. I would rather talk to you than read about you. You are not alone. You are never alone. Out.
It is my privilege to be a Deputy Lieutenant. Today I was humbled to meet 106 year-old David Niel & present him with (another) birthday message from the King. An army veteran of North Africa & Italy, his secret to longevity is a bowl of cornflakes & banana every morning.
Please no Zaire, no Iran, no Peru, no Costa Rica, no Brazil, no Germany, no England. Give us Lesotho, Kuwait, Ascension Island & Accrington Stanley (reserves) please. 🏴🏴🏴🏴
Honoured to be President of the Hamilton Burns Club for 25/26 & hugely privileged to see the fabulous gift from the Mitchell Library in Glasgow, who hosted our summer visit & gave us access to their amazing collection of Burns ephemera, including original Kilmarnock editions.
It is my greatest honour to be a Deputy Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire and to lay a wreath at my local war memorial on behalf of His Majesty the King on Remembrance Sunday. As a veteran myself now, it is especially poignant. Lest we forget.
Already busy working as a funeral celebrant in Glasgow & Inverclyde but now looking forward to helping bereaved families in Inverness & the Highlands. It is lovely to receive messages of thanks from people after I’ve led a family funeral - I am delighted to be able to help.
The former STV news journalist has covered myriad disasters and murders, but is now working as a celebrant to help bereaved families. https://t.co/ngW2ZWSEi9
@stephen37292ML@railnigel I used to eye this enviously when it adorned the office wall of the director of ScotRail & I was there to interview him. I remember chatting with John Ellis about Cuneo when he was in charge of the railway in Scotland.
Goodnight Willie Young. Heading the ball must be removed from football to prevent dementia. The name of the sport is a give away. How many more players must die before the governing body takes action? @FIFAcom @TheIFAB @UEFA https://t.co/PNVK57NKaW
Deeply honoured to be a Deputy Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire. I enjoyed our meeting in Bearsden tonight but the solemnity of the role was reinforced when we were issued with our wreaths which we will each lay at war memorials throughout the Lieutenancy on Remembrance Sunday.
