@Rob_G1979 @WestwoodLee PIF wanted to buy the PGA tour. The tour said no. PIF said ‘right we’ll wreck your tour until you eventually cave and sell it to us’. Kerry Packer used a similar strategy with cricket in the 90’s.

@Rob_G1979 @WestwoodLee As a golf fan, I’m only concerned with the sport being unified and the best players in the world regularly playing against each other. That used to happen on the PGA tour, and the players that have gone to liv know full well that they’ve ruined the spectacle for the public.

@Rob_G1979 @WestwoodLee the main problem is that the US players have never wanted to travel and play in Europe. And given so many of the world’s top players are from the US it has effected the popularity of the DP tour. There’s not a lot the top players in Europe can do about that.

It would be like Man City saying let’s play against championship teams half of the year to support the football league.

@Rob_G1979 @WestwoodLee I agree that it would be great to have more of a world tour with the players visiting different counties. It is boring that they just traipse around the US. However the players that moved to the PGA tour did so legitimately to enhance their careers and play against the best.
