Haiti is one of the only countries frequently subjected to having to re-do jersey’s bc Haiti’s decolonization + independence is deemed “too political” by FIFA. A nationalist tournament where Haiti can’t show pride in successfully winning its independence:

Latto career is lowkey sad to me, nothing she does ever sticks. Like pregnancy announcement, having a baby, and an album rollout all should’ve been enough to keep some heavy buzz around her and it didn’t. Like collectively nobody gives af omg 😭
One of the worst parts of being a feminist is realizing how GOOD you actually have it compared to other girls. Like I really exist on the same earth as girls who are experiencing child marriage, FGM, trafficking, etc. I will live and die before these problems are solved.
ok well they already started replying to me and let me just say if you can’t get your point across or articulate dislike for a little life without saying “trauma porn”, i’m straight up not going to listen to you
Cynthia Erivo talks to Variety about people joking about her being Ariana Grande’s “bodyguard” after she defended her from a red carpet intruder:
“I think that we haven’t really come to terms with the insidious nature of how we view Black women. And I’m sure people will read this and think, ‘Oh, for goodness’ sake, it’s not about that.’ But it is. Because that’s what was being made fun of. It was my physique; it was my shape; it was the fact that I was bald; it was about what I looked like. And because of that, there was this assumption that I was bigger than my co-star and so I had to be controlling or protecting, and that was my role. I would hazard a guess that it would not have been the same had it been the other way around.”
what kills me about “can we PLS normalize reading less than 30 books a year” is it’s such a “let men be masculine” ass plea😭 if you had any kind of life outside of this app you would realize it would be a miracle if the average person read ONE book in a single year, let alone 30
like when I'm in Nigeria there's no presence of whiteness but there is a presence of violent misogyny. It's not blasphemy for me to say my gender takes precedence 🤷🏾♀️
I agree with this but depending on where you are one of those things may be the more present of oppression (not worse just present) and we need to allow space for black women to voice as much
I don’t think it’s useful to say you’re Black first or a woman first because you are always both at the same time and having both identities always shapes how you’re perceived and treated
