The US housing market is in for a wild ride.

As rates rise to new highs, the average interest rate on a 30Y Mortgage is nearing 7%.

In other words, if you bought a home in 2021 at 3% interest, moving to a new home today would increase your rate by ~400 basis points.

Assuming you buy a $500,000 home with 20% down:

1. Monthly Payment at 3% Interest: $1,686/mo
2. Monthly Payment at 7% Interest: $2,661/mo

That's an increase of almost $1,000/mo, or +58%.

The already stagnant housing market is set to freeze.

The sulfuric acid shortage caused by the Iran war is now threatening commodity production.

Sulfuric acid is essential for processing ores into metals. The market was already tight, with prices up ~500% even before the conflict.

The Middle East accounts for ~24% of global sulfur production, and producers typically hold only a few weeks to 2 months of supply.

Without sulfuric acid, production drops.

- ~20% of global copper
~50% of uranium
- ~30% of nickel production

Depend directly on it.

But mining isn't the only sector competing for supply.

Around 60% of global sulfuric acid is used to produce phosphate fertilizers. Without it, fertilizer production falls, putting food production at risk.

To protect domestic industries, countries including Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkey have imposed sulfur export restrictions, squeezing an already tight market.

With critical energy infrastructure being destroyed, these shortages won’t disappear even if the Strait is reopened... they will persist.

🇺🇸❌ American flag no longer a shield for drone makers in Ukraine

Russia hitting a drone factory in Kiev linked to US-registered company Terminal Autonomy is a “game changer” rather than just a precision strike, Russian military expert Vitaly Kiselyov told Sputnik.

💬 “Russia has made it clear that for Ukraine, hiding behind the American flag no longer works and that any facility producing weapons used to kill our soldiers becomes a legitimate target, regardless of where its owner is registered. And the next such factory, wherever it is located, will suffer the same fate,” Kiselyov noted.

Terminal Autonomy is not a shadow manufacturer but an American Delaware-registered company, which openly states that its AI-guided munitions are already being used on the battlefield, the expert recalled.

After the strike on the Kiev drone factory, other Western companies involved in supplying or producing drones for Ukraine should clearly understand that they are all legitimate targets for Russian forces, Kiselyov concluded.
