I genuinely don’t understand how we are supposed to casually process that a glacier literally collapsed in Nepal, erasing 19 bridges and killing over 600 people, because the planet is too hot. And instead of stopping it, billionaires are building more data centres. Psychotic!
Just a reminder: Earth never needed humans to survive. It is never “Save Our Earth.”
Long before we existed, this planet had already gone through massive environmental changes, ecological crises, and extinction events.
Around 2.4 billion years ago, the Great Oxidation Event radically transformed Earth’s atmosphere. Oxygen-producing microbes released massive amounts of oxygen, which was toxic to much of the anaerobic life that dominated the planet at the time. Much of that life disappeared, but Earth didn’t end. Life adapted, ecosystems reorganized, and the planet continued evolving.
So when we destroy the environment, we’re not really destroying Earth. We’re destroying the conditions that allow us, and countless other species, to survive.
Earth will keep spinning, evolving, and regenerating long after humans are gone. It has survived things far greater than us.
It was always “Save Us.” Because Earth doesn’t need humans. Humans need Earth.
and just like that, the agana bridge which is the alternate route left for us to reach the city has collapsed too. the alternate route now takes almost two hours before you reach the city proper. PUTANGINA. TARLAC DESERVES BETTER. PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE WORD.
“hindi pala baha ang magpapalubog sa ating bayan, kundi kasakiman” is so real coz if only the flood control funds had been properly used and allocated, the severe flooding/devastating floods that many towns experience every year could have been prevented :((
