COVID-19 NOTICE: Based on H&S advice, on-site Tribunal hearings up to 21/5/21 cannot be facilitated. As many as possible will proceed as remote A/V hearings. The Tribunal is contacting those affected. Updates will issue on 19/5/21 for hearings scheduled for 24/5/21 and onwards.

COVID -19 Whereas there is welcomed easing of restrictions from 12/4/21 the Tribunal cannot facilitate onsite hearings up to 4th May 21. The Tribunal continues to hold A/V hearings in so far as possible. Contact will be made on new arrangements or, where necessary postponement.

COVID-19 – Please check IPAT website for updates. At Level 5 - Onsite hearings cannot be facilitated up to 5/3/21. Some hearings will proceed by way of audio-video link. Communications will issue detailing new arrangements for affected hearings, or where necessary, postponement.

In light of the announced restrictions the International Protection Appeals Tribunal will not be in a position to facilitate on site hearings up to, and including, Thursday 14th January 2021. The Tribunal will review the situation on the 12th of January 2021.

The Tribunal, as an essential service, will continue conducting business throughout the 6 week period of Level 5 restrictions.  This includes accepting new appeal notices and finalising appeals already heard or those being dealt with on a papers only basis.

IPAT has postponed scheduled hearings from Thursday 22/10/20 for 6 weeks following Govt. implementation of Level 5 of the Plan for Living with COVID-19. Notifications will now issue on rescheduling dates or, if suitable, offering a/v hearing or proceeding on a papers only basis.

IPAT Tribunal hearings for Monday 21/9/20 will proceed as scheduled. This follows a H&S re- appraisal of our risk assessment. With the COVID-19 control measures already in place, IPAT is advised that hearings can proceed. See our website for details the control measures in place.

Following the latest Government decisions in response to COVID-19 communicated by An Taoiseach on the 1st May 2020, the International Protection Appeals Tribunal (IPAT) has decided to further postpone all Tribunal appeal hearings up to and including the 26th May 2020.
