Coaches, with all the craziness right now, please reach out to your 2027 commits and reassure them that you’re still committed to them and excited about their future with your program.
A lot of young players and families are nervous right now. A simple message can go a long way.
🚨 HOLY CRAP! The latest U.S. House 2026 forecast finds Republicans favored to WIN 215 seats out of 218 needed for a majority — 206 Democrat, and 14 tossup
That would mean Republicans need just 22% of the tossups to hold control 🔥
Republicans must go hardball mode and play to win! Secure our elections and turnout will surge even higher 🇺🇸
Redistricting is going to play a HUGE role. Finish strong.

We are still evaluating the portal for the right fit.
We’re looking to add the right people to our family at UMSL. Competitive, driven players who value trust, commitment, and care — and who want to be pushed in an environment built on daily growth and genuine connection.
Many programs’ social media that has post after post of the head coach looks so cringy.
A program’s social should usually be about:
• The players
• The team
• The university
• The fans & community
• The journey
Coaches please stop doing mic’d up, let the players be the spot light.
The coach is the narrator.
The players are the movie.

We had 8 freshmen in 2025 and have 8 returning. We have 8 of 8 returning from our 2024 scholarship class. We lost one walk on. The problem is that some coaches don’t believe in player development anymore and the recruits are chasing the shiny objects instead of the right fit.
@FrericksLayne@NCAASoccer@TopDrawerSoccer Message me privately should you need more information on Layne. Sad to see her go, what an outstanding person and player. This kid can help someone needing a combative brave athlete.
Portal Needs:
-GK who wants to compete with us for a championship.
-Center Forward who plays on the edge. An athlete with great pedigree.
-Box to Box Mid, 6/8 type with great energy to press and ball win.
Back2Back winning seasons! This is the place to be right now.
UMSL is looking to strengthen our 2026 roster with one to two transfers.

The different perspectives I heard at the Phoenix Showcase were interesting. When discussing 2028s, I heard a lot of “well she’s still so young” from club coaches… yet some of these same players will be committing in a few weeks to where they’ll (possibly) be walking across the stage in 2032.
Kinda crazy when you think about it.
And it helps explain why the portal is overflowing—bad, uninformed, or rushed decisions about one of the biggest life-shaping experiences you’ll have.
It would be so much better if “labels” weren’t driving so much of this.
Everyone—clubs, players, parents—loves the shiny D1 or P4 commit post. But we never see the 1,000+ posts each year that say: “Bella just entered the portal and regrets her decision…”
“I want to play D1” — without regard to all the amazing D3 schools and programs.
“I want to play Power 4” — without being able to name the all the conferences or schools.
The best advice I can give: DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
You have more access than ever. You can become a private investigator with the resources at your fingertips.
Consistent roster turnover? That’s a major yellow flag—and it doesn’t take much digging to find it.
Use your network. Coaches, friends, clubs… you’re often just a few connections away from someone who knows the real story behind a program.
Forget the labels. Follow your fit.
There are plenty of D1 players who choose D3 because they fall in love with the school and experience. Just like there are plenty of slam-dunk P4s who choose great mid-majors—we have more than our fair share.
At the end of the day, no one cares where you went to school as much as you think they will.
But you’ll care a lot if you chose for the wrong reasons.
