Trump fired all three remaining members of the Election Assistance Commission, leaving the agency with no commissioners just months before the midterms https://t.co/YNJjsNJsnE
Our Keepers move between units as elephants grow โ Nursery, Voi, Kaluku, and Umani. When Mzinga arrived at our Nairobi Nursery, Sammy was there to shepherd her through her earliest, most vulnerable days.
But rewind a few years, and he was in Voi, bonding with an elephant who still holds a special place in his heart: Murit.
"I looked after him and he became very attached to me. We were both new to Voi, so we created a bond and leaned on each other.Whenever he heard my voice, he started shouting to get my attention. Even when I would take a few steps away from him, he would be right there, following me.
It was hard to leave him when I returned to the Nursery after a few years, but by that time he was strong and didnโt need me. It makes me happy to know that he is big and independent and even starting to find his way in the wild."
OMFG!
Remember the Iranian School that Trump bombed?
CNN just reported that Trumpโs military commanders ignored warnings that their intel on targets in Iran were OUTDATED and then approved the strike that hit the school, killing close to 200 people, including well over 100 children.
People should spend life in prison over this.
WOW -- Danish reporter *goes there* with Mark Rutte
"You sit next to Donald Trump at moments when he talks about conquering Greenland, talks about lashing out at allies like Spain -- things it doesn't seem like the old Mark Rutte would approve of. Does this have any affect on your self-respect when you sit there and say nothing?"
World Liberty Financial has been the biggest crypto cash cow for the Trumps.
It follows a familiar โpump-and-dumpโ pattern that delivered $1.1 billion for the family.

How does Mark Rutte look at himself in the mirror?
What a yellow-bellied, spineless little man. His public, verbal fellatio of Trump is nauseating.
His family must be so embarrassed.
Amazing outflow action in the Baltimore Metro this evening! Watch the radar loop. You'll see the cold air outflow from each storm help to develop new storms on the edges. It's a storm feeding loop! Stay weather aware tonight. A lot of activity.
When orphaned elephants lose their mothers, they lose everything. Thatโs where we step in. Our Keepers guide them, as their lost mothers would have done, hand-feed bottles of milk and even sleep bedside them. Walking, side by side, until the orphans are ready to return to the wild.
Adopt an orphaned elephant in our care and you can become a part of their family, helping us to provide care, comfort and protection to wildlife in need. Adopt for yourself at: https://t.co/CooVpdJQWM
Our entire staff treats every single dog here exactly like their own personal pet. It is an incredible privilege to watch a sick or terrified pup heal day by day, simply because they are finally surrounded by genuine care. As much as we love spoiling them, the greatest feeling in the world is watching them leave us for the beautiful forever homes they truly deserve. It is always a tearful goodbye, but the best possible reason to celebrate. (Yes, Anthony is up for adoption! ๐โค๏ธ)
Cooper: I've seen governments and dictators rise and fall, people and places torn apart by lies and hate and war. And I've seen people do things and heard them say things that I could never have imagined. I've seen what we humans are capable of when everything else is stripped away. Yes, great acts of barbarism and brutality. But we are also capable of remarkable acts of heroism and kindness. It's a choice, and the choice is up to us
Let's hope 50 years from now, someone standing here or somewhere on the eve of the 300th anniversary of this republic will look back and say of us: they didnโt know if they would make it through but they did.
This photograph today deserves a Pulitzer Prize.

This is so representative of the country. Weโre living in under Donald Trump right now. I want my country back.

It had been four months since Nsimba's last visit to Voi and everyone was excited: deep rumbles started up around our Voi Reintegration Unit, heralding his arrival. Little did we know we were in for such a treat, getting a front-row seat at the water trough.
Here's the thing about seven-month-old Nsimba: he isn't your usual elephant calf. He's alive today because, many years ago, we rescued an orphaned elephant calf โ then raised them so they could return to the wild and start a family. Who? Find out: https://t.co/5nGMVETg1D
In elephant society, itโs the mothers who raise the babies and everyone, from auties to cousins pitches in.
But when young adolescent bulls leave their natal herd, it is patriarchal older bulls who help keep their behaviour in check and pass on their learned wisdom to the brash young bachelors.
We see this at our Reintegration Units all the time. Huge wild bulls have played a vital role in socialising with our orphaned males (and sired many a baby among our ex-orphan females too).
Now our own orphans are taking on the mantle of mentor. Rapsu- a 23 year-old ex-orphan - is one such male who the younger bulls hero-worship. With good reason too as he will take the younger orphans under his wing and help shepherd them to a wild life.
For those not in DC, just an observation on how colossally screwed up the America 250 celebration is. Whatever the opposite of freedom is, this is it.
The National Mall and other previously public areas nearby are a bewildering maze of walls, fences, and restrictions that stop any access except thru a few secured entrances. Once you get on there's a bizarre ersatz "America's state fair" that mixes lame state tourism materials with pro-Trump displays.
While you're wandering through the blazing heat trying to figure out how to access what should be areas open to the public, you are repeatedly blasted by deafening flyovers from military jets, signaling America's desire to intimidate the world through armed force.
Happy 250th! We'll get through it...
