Brazil: Woman Rescued After 5 Days of Captivity
A 24-year-old woman, Emiliane Tamara Nunes Carvalho, was reportedly kidnapped and held captive for five days by her former husband, Ailton Rodrigues de Souza.
Emiliane disappeared on August 17 after leaving a medical clinic in Mansões Odisséia. Police rescued her on August 21, finding her tied to a bed with chains and handcuffs, with her mouth and eyes covered.
Authorities allege she was drugged and subjected to physical and sexual abuse during her captivity.
Ailton was arrested at the scene. Police also reportedly found an illegally possessed 9mm firearm inside the house.
The case remains under investigation.
They see a strange job... but you're about to learn that value is often where you least expect it.
IN THE 1950S, THIS GUY WAS A "LIPSTICK TESTER" WHOSE JOB WAS SIMPLY TO BE KISSED ALL DAY.
Not a scientist. Not a marketer. A man whose entire job was to sit there and get kissed-repeatedly-to test the durability of lipstick.
The truth? In a different era, we'd call it a dream job. Today, we'd call it strange. But at the time, it was necessary. Someone had to make sure the lipstick stayed on, wouldn't smudge, wouldn't fade -and a man's cheek was the perfect testing ground.
What's the lesson? Value isn't always obvious. What looks bizarre today might have been essential yesterday. What seems like a joke might have been a job that helped build an industry.
Perspective matters. You weren't meant to judge things by their surface. You were built to see the function behind the strange, the purpose behind the odd, and the history behind the things we take for granted.
Comment "KISS" if you'd take that job. Tag someone who appreciates the weird history behind everyday things.
