The amount of grief nations like Iran are carrying while being told to just “play football” under awful conditions on US soil, after everything that country has done to their people, is obscene.

The World Cup is meant to unite the world, yet ahead of 2026 World Cup we’re discussing shootings, visa restrictions, and fans being unable to attend. Qatar faced a ridiculous amount of scrutiny, but now many of the same voices are silent. The double standard is hard to ignore.
BREAKING: At least two people are dead and multiple people are injured after an active shooter opened fire at the Islamic Center of San Diego. This is a developing story.
that video of Israeli settlers forcing a family in the West Bank to dig up and move their father’s corpse is truly one of the most depraved things I’ve ever seen. I can’t stop thinking about it

🚨New Testimonies Reveal Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya Stripped, Beaten, and Set Upon by Dogs in Israeli Detention
Three recently released Palestinian prisoners have provided harrowing testimony about the condition of Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, who has been held in Israeli detention since his arrest on December 27, 2024.
Released prisoner Ahmad Qaddas said he initially did not recognize Abu Safiya due to his physical deterioration. He described the doctor spending most of his time “sitting in a daze,” barely able to speak, while fellow prisoners could hear him screaming during beatings but were powerless to intervene — with those who tried to help facing tear gas raids.
A second witness, Hamza Abu Omeira, said Abu Safiya suffered constant vomiting, could not keep food down, and was denied medical care. He described seven consecutive days during which prisoners were shackled by both hands and feet. He said Abu Safiya was also reportedly forced to repeat degrading phrases about himself under torture.
A third released prisoner said he witnessed Abu Safiya being stripped, beaten after interrogation, and attacked by police dogs that “scratched him and knocked him to the ground.”
All three witnesses warned he faces imminent death if not released immediately. Abu Safiya is one of 737 medical workers arrested by Israel since the start of the war, according to Al Jazeera.

🚨 Assassination of the Imam of Sayyida Zaynab Shrine in #Damascus

Let me be clear: whoever truly wants a better Iran and actually cares about Iranian people should be calling for the removal of sanctions.
Sanctions do not “pressure” in theory, they crush everyday life. They hit ordinary people first: salaries, rent, food, medicine, currency, and the ability to live with basic dignity.
When people are forced to spend every day just trying to survive, anger becomes inevitable. That pressure does not create healthy change; it creates exhaustion, instability, and a society trapped in survival mode.
At the same time, sanctions distort the entire economy, empower oligarchic networks and those who profit from currency shocks, and turn Iran’s blocked assets abroad into a permanent tool of leverage.
You cannot claim to want reform while supporting the very mechanism that keeps people economically suffocated.
If you genuinely want change in Iran, start by demanding an end to sanctions.
