Une petite ville sur la côte, avec l’océan indien sur sa droite. Une petite ville typique swahili où l’Islam et le christianisme cohabitent de manière pacifique et tranquille. Le peu d’habitants ainsi que son calme en font un cadre charmant et agréable pour les personnes qui recherchent une certaine sérénité.

A l’ouest de la ville à 18km, il y a un parc/ une forêt qui s’appelle Arabuko Sokoke. Elle est la forêt la plus large d’Afrique de l’Est. Il s’y trouve des espèces rares dans cette forêt. Oiseaux rares comme le tisserin de Clarke et la chouette de Sokoke
