Ekwensu is not the villain, you were just taught to see him that way.
Ekwensu was never evil in Igbo cosmology. He represented strategy, intelligence, and survival in a world that isn’t always fair.
But when missionaries arrived, they needed a “Satan” to fit their narrative.
So they chose him.
Not because he was evil, but because he was complex.
Ala is order. Amadioha is justice. Ekwensu is the space in between, the part of life most people don’t want to admit exists.
He was never the villain.
Just misunderstood.
