Lasisi spoke about the poor healthcare system in this country, but only spake about the unavailability of beds in hospitals. I understand that this is him speaking from personal experience, RIP to his mom. However, this is the list of the problem.
-Let's talk about the cards being sold in hospitals before you can even see a medical practitioner, even in times of emergency.
-Let's talk about how many hospitals sell medications at an overprice and remove the packs so patients don't know the name or brand to repurchase elsewhere.
-Let's talk about how essential things like oxygen are over expensive, or how hospitals ask you to come with your own medical cleaning materials, even when it's not needed.
-Let's talk about how doctors will push for birth thru operation, C-section, instead of waiting for the patient to try the natural delivery. All to make money.
-Let's talk about how doctors will deliberately transfer or recommend patients to their own private hospitals and clinics just to make money.
-Let's talk about how hospitals often sell things donated to the establishment. These are just a few problems.
Our govts are incompetent, and the medical practitioners make it incredibly worse.
Last night, my friend mistakenly loaded ₦300,000 instead of ₦3,000 on her prepaid meter through Buypower NG.
This morning, we went to the DISCO with the receipt, but they refused to refund. Their reason? “You bought via 3rd party app, & token already issued.”
So, a token issued by your system is not your responsibility because it was purchased via a 3rd party app? You can’t cancel it and recall the units?
How does one person reasonably consume ₦300k worth of electricity they never intended to buy? This is pure madness.
Nigerian companies keep treating customers like trash. Simple errors shouldn’t become financial disasters. Buypower & DISCOs need to fix this refund process immediately!
Who else has experienced this nonsense?
One of the quietest guys in my office resigned last month.
Nobody really noticed him like that. He doesn't wear expensive clothes, hardly gives his opinions, and doesn't even post anything on social media.
While others would post about their accomplishments on LinkedIn, this guy doesn't care about that. On few occasions he talked, he'd just say:
“Forget LinkedIn jor.”
People mostly saw him as one struggling guy trying to survive Lagos. Others even think he's unserious with his life by being quiet and not making new connections.
On his last day, our manager jokingly asked him:
“So where you dey go now? Hope say no be another small company.”
That was when we found out he was relocating to Canada.
A fully sponsored job, with a far better salary than almost everybody there. Accommodation was also already sorted.
The silence in the office that day was something else.
You see...
People don't understand that not everybody advertises their life while building it. And the fact that someone is silent or not flashy doesn't mean they're not progressing.
It’s quite surprising that clients prepare a PRD, a detailed brief, and outlined timelines and deliverables; yet have no budget whatsoever.
That’s a key part of the creative process that’s missing. An unprofessional gap.
He’s the God of another chance. You may have made mistakes, missed opportunities, mishandled relationships, mismanaged the blessing and favor on your life, but if you start believing again, He’s going to give you another chance.
Just got a message from one of my mentees.
She got promoted barely 2 months into the international job I recommended and is now earning over ₦2M monthly base salary.
This is the same person who was earning ₦100k–₦200k from juggling multiple Nigerian companies doing the exact same work.
Sometimes, it’s not you, it’s the stage you’re playing on. 🎯
