Recently I have been working on my family tree. I decided to pay homage, through my artwork, to my late grandfather, Dr Hugh Donnelly. The image is inspired from an old family photograph. He started the GP Practice in the High Street, opposite the original police station.

A nice view across the fields to the Sperrin mountains from my back garden… I’m thinking these views need to be revisited and painted using watercolours. Painting with light is far too easy! The telephoto lens on my iPhone quickly catches the transient lighting #sperrinmountains
