Caitlin's family in particular brothers are known for their non-MAGA beliefs and have expressed their negative opinion of it & certain elected officials. Don't paint somebody in a corner when you don't know the truth. It helps that I'm from Iowa and I'm aware of the Clark family and the goodness they bring their Community as does Caitlin and everything she does such as through her foundation.

When Monica McNutt made the comment about Caitlin Clark and sisterhood, that’s basically saying Caitlin Clark is causing division and that Black players don’t accept her because sisterhood is about supporting one another, celebrating each other, standing together, and uplifting one another.

But let’s be real. Where has that same sisterhood been when it comes to Caitlin Clark since she entered the league?

Y’all don’t treat Paige Bueckers that way. Why? A’ja Wilson even said on live TV that Paige is one of “us” and she gets it. Olivia Miles is tearing up the league as a young Black woman, and nobody is making the same arguments about her. Whether people want to admit it or not, fans notice the difference in how these conversations happen.

A’ja Wilson is a champion and one of the greatest players in the world. She also made the point that Caitlin Clark’s fame has, at times, overshadowed the history of the league and the Black women who helped build it. That’s a valid conversation to have. But Caitlin Clark’s popularity and the history of the WNBA can both be true at the same time. One doesn’t have to erase the other.

Instead of uplifting while acknowledging both truths, the conversation became about race. It became Black versus White.

The players fueled it. Some fans around the world fueled it. Sports TV fueled it.

I appreciated Malika Andrews’ interview with Caitlin Clark, and I thought Chiney Ogwumike made a great point when she said the conversation needed to be recentered. Instead of bringing it back to basketball and the growth of the league, Monica McNutt shifted it back to sisterhood, a term that carries a powerful meaning in the Black community.

To me, real sisterhood isn’t about deciding who belongs. It’s about supporting one another, celebrating each other’s success, standing together, and uplifting women while still being able to acknowledge the pioneers who built this league.

The WNBA is big enough to honor the Black women who laid the foundation while also embracing the new stars who are bringing millions of new eyes to the game. Those ideas are not in conflict. Both can be true.

BREAKING: YES! Pope Leo XIV claps back after Trump accused him of "endangering a lot of Catholics" with a brilliant response that has MAGA world screeching.

This pope always knows exactly what to say...

“Well, the pope would rather talk about the fact that it’s okay for Iran to have a nuclear weapon, and I don’t think that’s very good,” Trump told right-wing commentator Hugh Hewitt. “I think he’s endangering a lot of Catholics, and a lot of people, but I guess if it’s up to the pope, he thinks it’s just fine for Iran to have a nuclear weapon."

As has been explained and repeated in countless publications at this point, Iran was not pursuing nuclear weapons. Our own intelligence agencies concluded as much and Ayatollah Khamenei — who Trump assassinated — maintained a religious ban against such armaments. Ironically, now that the United States has attacked, Iran has a greater incentive than ever to pursue nukes.

What's more, Trump is the one who endangered Catholics, and indeed everyone on this planet, by starting an illegal war on behalf of Israel that could easily escalate into a new world war.

While Pope Leo didn't mention Trump by name, a tactic often used by former President Barack Obama, it was clear who he was responding to.

“I have already spoken from the first moment ‘peace be with you.’ The mission of the Church is to preach the Gospel, to preach peace. If anyone wants to criticize me for proclaiming the Gospel, let them do so truthfully," Leo told reporters in Italian. “The Church has spoken out against all nuclear weapons for years, so there is no doubt about that."

Of course Pope Leo doesn't want Iran to have nuclear weapons because the Catholic Church doesn't want anyone to have them. At the same time, he won't support a bloody, genocidal war of aggression being waged against innocent women and children to prevent weapons that were never being built in the first place.

Trump's fixation on Leo stems from a frustration with his own powerlessness to stop the Vatican from criticizing this war. He's used to Evangelical Republicans who claim to believe in Jesus but in practice believe in nothing beyond raw power. Now that he's going up against a real Christian, he doesn't have a leg to stand on.
