FYI Xavier would be the second - (first elected) Romualdo Pacheco is the only Latino to ever serve as governor of California, taking office as the 12th governor in 1875.
A Republican, Pacheco was serving as Lieutenant Governor when Governor Newton Booth resigned to join the U.S. Senate. Pacheco was elevated to fill the vacancy and served out the remainder of the term for roughly 10 months (from February to December 1875). A Californio statesman born in Santa Barbara, he is historically recognized as the first and only Latino to hold the state's highest office.
.@CAgovernor@GavinNewsom is right: housing affordability is the dominant issue facing cities across America.
In San Diego, we’ve changed how we think about housing, cut through old barriers and focused on building more homes to bring down housing costs.
As the daughter of veterans, it meant a lot to welcome home these New Mexico heroes as they returned from their Honor Flight.
I'm grateful for their service, their sacrifice, and the example they've set for generations of Americans.
If you can, please consider donating to sponsor a veteran so they can take an Honor Flight: https://t.co/J3d2EyawJW

❤️ So much work, care, and community spirit went into preparing 5,000 bags for the Chinese Newcomers Service Center’s annual food giveaway at Cameron House today.
Thank you to George Chan, his dedicated team, sponsors, community partners, and volunteers for helping provide food staples and support to our seniors. Together, we are making a real difference and ensuring our elders know they are valued, respected, and cared for. ❤️

Co President Susan Minato spoke last night at the LA action of the "Seven Days in June" to draw attention to the devastating cuts to healthcare funding that will come into effect after the midterm elections.
An assistant United States attorney, Robert Renner, is observing & asking questions inside L.A. County's central processing center where hundreds-of-thousands of ballots remain to be counted. Also with him is a worker who identified as being with California AG Bonta's office.
Thank you, California!
The primary results are looking strong, and we are officially moving on to the general election in November! I am deeply humbled by the trust voters have placed in me across all 58 counties. The real work is just beginning. As we look toward November, I am ready for the next chapter. Together, we will build a stronger, more affordable, and more prosperous future for everyone. Let’s keep this momentum going!

Since I took office as governor in 2019, California has seen a 59% increase in the number of homes constructed and a 56% reduction in permitting times.
We've got to keep doing more to drive forward that progress — in California and across this country.
