Valid that Ethan isn't human...my mistake. But if he's worth more alive than dead...why did you try to kill him? Even if he didn't go for your deal...still valuable.
I won't bother trying to explain my thought processes to you, but Ethan isn't goddamn human. No human survives the shit he has!
Besides, most humans aren't worth the trouble. He and his daughter, on the other hand? They're both worth more alive then dead!
I never thought you'd murder Rose, but I could see you "improving" her.
So you wouldn't have killed Ethan, you actually feel that would be a waste? I thought humans were below you?
You are so fucking confusing.
A deal's a deal! It'd be a waste to kill the man after it all! He helps me, I help him; you don't make deals if you're known for backstabbing!
Now, I'll admit, after he refused my offer, the plans changed a bit! But killing babies is more Miranda's thing.

I was ready to succumb to it, to let it steal me away.
One day a voice penetrated the darkness. It belonged to someone who finally talked to me as a person, not a specimen or lab project. It reminded me that I was a human and ultimately that I still had purpose in this world.
(She hesitated, explaining how she made it out would require her to go back into the darkness that had nearly swallowed her, an oppressive space full of pain and sorrow. Her mind begged her to not make the journey, to protect herself.)
( He'd seen pity in the eyes of those tasked with guiding him back to something resembling functional; some were better at masking it than others. He didn't like that he'd come to expect it, even when it wasn't there. The instinct to wall himself in was never far behind. )
(She ignored the pleas. Even if it helped only one person, it was worth the sacrifice.)
I was consumed by darkness. It surrounded me, thick and impenetrable. For me there was no light, a cold space void of humanity. The only voice I heard was my own, encouraging me to give up.
