Delighted to present our experience with pre hospital blood at the IEQAS conference today with @nas_training and the Transfusion Laboratory @SVUHTrauma

Since 2019, we have provided pre hospital blood transfusion to 12 patients; 21 units of red cells and 17 units of plasma.

We’ve been a bit quiet on social media lately, but not behind the scenes.

WWRR continues to respond to high acuity calls on behalf of @AmbulanceNAS, delivering pre hospital critical care including anaesthesia and blood transfusion.

We will have some exciting news soon too…!

From bystander CPR / AED , activation of the 112/999 system , @AmbulanceNAS community first responders and practitioners, critical care doctors and excellent in-hospital aftercare.

For 15 year old Conal McAuliffe, the system worked seamlessly

Recently, the @WicklowRR doctor and @AmbulanceNAS transported a patient directly to @MaterTrauma

For seriously injured patients, transport to definitive care (not necessarily the closest hospital) is possible.

Trauma Access Protocols will form a key part of #TraumaCareIreland.
