I find it rather striking that some Muslims so readily quote the Bible, the very book they insist has been corrupted beyond recognition.

If a text has been so thoroughly distorted, why appeal to it at all?

They often add that certain portions remain intact while others do not, yet they seldom specify which passages belong to which category.

One cannot help suspecting that the parts deemed authentic are simply those that prove convenient, while the inconvenient ones are dismissed as corrupted. Precisely which verses fall where remains, I confess, a mystery to me.

It almost seems like a desperate plea when I read posts like these. I have read and studied both the Quran and the Bible extensively, and the Bible surpasses the Quran in historical coherence, narrative depth, and the weight of its central message.

The Quran repeatedly retells stories already present in the Torah and the New Testament, yet it does so with compressed, altered, and often internally inconsistent versions of those same accounts.

What is presented as a final, clarifying revelation frequently reads instead as a later, less precise recasting of earlier scriptures rather than an independent or superior original.

So yes, reading and studying both leaves me with this conclusion: the Bible is the more authentic witness. I am a Christian, and I will remain one. As for Islam: thanks, but no thanks.

A word is not a covenant.

“Allah” is Arabic for the god. It is a title the desert already knew, a designation any tongue can borrow. It is not the Name spoken from the fire that would not be consumed.

When Moses asked, “Who shall I say sent me?” the Voice did not answer with a common noun. He answered with Himself:

I AM WHO I AM.

Then He sealed it:
YHWH, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial unto all generations.

Forever. Not until another language arrives. Not until another book claims to confirm Moses while leaving the Name He swore would never be forgotten off every page.

He said it again:
I am the LORD; that is My name. I will not give My glory to another.

A memorial spoken as eternal cannot be folded into a generic word and called the same. A glory He refuses to share cannot be absorbed by a title that never once utters YHWH.

Allah is not the Christian God.

Jesus.

A threat is when someone claims the power to inflict harm.

A warning is when someone points to a danger they believe already exists.

Christians do not threaten eternal torture. They warn of a reality they hold to be true, the same way one might cry “fire” in a burning building, not to terrorize, but because silence would be the real cruelty.
